I have to admit that I'm getting a bit of a bad feeling myself now...I mean,isn't SDCC next week?!! Can't see them just pulling out a load of surprises at the event without ANY mention of anything beforehand....still,I REEEAAAALLY hope I'm wrong.

If I have to see another Marvel/Star Wars/DC item go up for pre-order I'm gonna scream!!

No! I certainly don't!

I have to admit,I've never really understood the fuss about SW...I mean,they're good films,for sure,but they don't even approach the emotion,majesty,beauty,and all-round epic-ness that is LOTR..there's really no comparison.

I think it all depends if you grew up with the classic films. While I adore the LotR films more than any other, you just can't beat cherished childhood memories. The OT will always be something special to everyone who fell for it at the right age!

That being said, I would gladly swap a couple of SW announcements for some MiddleEarth news from SSC!!!

If anything...I'm scared that all the investment into collecting the line that I love will fall flat before it has a chance to reach its full potential.

I am starting to feel like I did in 2005 when Toybiz was really hitting it's stride with LOTR and then BAM...line cancelled...Epic trilogy ceased...SAD DAY!

I hope that Sideshow has some good surprises in store for the next few weeks. They did say that instead of having exclusives for the show, they would have reveals and pre-orders ALL SUMMER...so that gives us a bit more time outside the SDCC sandbox.

I have my fingers crossed...but only a little.

What irks me the most is that SS won't answer any questions related to Middle Earth on Facebook, while almost all of the other questions get some kind of official reply. I just don't understand their position regarding LOTR. Why not throw us a bone once in awhile with some concept art or production peaks instead of waiting until fans are wondering if the line is even going to continue... Weird way of doing business. 10 days in and still nothing.

If confirmed I find regrettable.

It is very sad that after a year without news, have no shame to teach anything of Middle Earth at Comic Con this year.

More likely this is hobbit related rather than Merry and Pippin, maybe both. Why wouldn't they push out a hobbit piece at CC though? Odd.
