Re: Which Superman Movie is your favorite Superman movie?
If I was still 6 years old it would definitely be superman the movie. I remember being in awe the first time I saw it as a kid and was instantly a fan of superman. I never read a single superman comic until just recently so my love of the character came directly from the first two films. I still watch them with great fondness and adoration, about 2-3 times per year and have for the past 30+ years.
I even put up with watching smallville for 10 years just to get a fix of the character. It was cool that reeve appeared in few episodes, but it sucked seeing thae actor that played supes in that state.
Having said all this, surprisingly I enjoyed man of steel even more then Superman the movie or superman 2. maybe I just love the character and after so many viewing of the donner films I just longed for some real badass action that takes place in the modern world. I think a lot of superman fans waited along time to see him just kick some ****ing *** in a movie. Its great seeing supes not limited by 70-80s effects, technology and fashion - which as time passes becomes more jarring upon subsequent viewings.
Bring on MoS2. On a side note, how is Thor2 gonna compete or top the action scenes in man of steel. He is gonna make every other superhero look weak in comparison, and I just can't see how it can top the spectacle we saw in MoS. Everything from now on will seem second rate if it dont top this ****. This will also be a major challenge for Zack and company in the sequal- how the **** do u top this???
