Re: Which Superman Movie is your favorite Superman movie?

To me MoS is a superior film, I hated reeve as Clark kent but like his superman, never like hackmans lex superman II was better than the first one anyway, now mos the story the superman character and the kent character I found to be excellent, aside from any nostalgia towards the first movies the new one takes the place of #1 in my mind, IMHO of course.

Re: Which Superman Movie is your favorite Superman movie?

Here we are... 35 years later, much more advance tech, and millions more in film budget... and MoS can only barley top Superman: The Movie....

If MoS was done right it should have blown S:TM out.

Oh well..... I hope MoS 2 gets it right.

Enough said.

Re: Which Superman Movie is your favorite Superman movie?

The opening titles to Superman The Movie were more exciting than the entire 100million CG smackdown at the end of Man Of Steel. IMO.

Re: Which Superman Movie is your favorite Superman movie?

The flashback of Clark with the t shirt cape and his parents watching him was just beautiful - my favourite moment of any superman film I think

Re: Which Superman Movie is your favorite Superman movie?

I love both. I am happy to enjoy both and not compare them.

It's alarming how many people now dislike Superman The Movie.

Reeve played Superman to perfection. As much as I really like Cavill, one thing I do prefer is Reeve as Supes. He is still the personification of a hero, of Superman.

For a film made in 78 I think it holds up incredibly well. The night time flying scenes are still amazing IMO.

But then what I love about MoS was the fact he had some villains to contend with.

Like I say, I really love both for different reasons.

That will never be topped.

This is true in your minds and the others that think like ya'll that's why it's called opinion, there's a TON of people that feel the opposite, the comparing the movies it's a bit ridiculous cause they're two different universes two different approaches to tell a story to simplify the whole thing.

I agree the music is very nice but not original as its very similar to the theme about a movie that takes place in a galaxy far far away. Still very entertaining.

In the end the movie was good for its time, it was well done for its time, but it was even toped by the sequel IMHO.

Mos is well made for today.

I think we all know that what we posted is our opinion, just as what you just posted is yours. We are each entitled to like what we like, no one was telling anyone else they were incorrect to disagree with them.

Yes we all know the iconic Williams score is the better of the two. Some of you are acting like the music is the end all/be all of filmmaking. Attack of the Clones also has a better score than most movies out there.... :monkey3

Absolutely agree with you here... Just a fantastic moment.. One of the best in any comic book movie.

Re: Which Superman Movie is your favorite Superman movie?

Why was he wearing his t-shirt as a cape? Was he into comic books?
:lol

I hope he saw "the matrix" when he got a bit older as well, cause they used bit of it on krypton to make babies.

Actually Attack of the Clones had a pretty poor score (By far the worst of the series) but a great score would not have helped that film.

Music can help elevate a film to that next level... Williams Superman theme is as much of Superman now as the S on his chest.. I think the new film could have been aided with some of that theme. Not through the whole film just at some point.

Actually they should have played it at the end of the film.... Just tease it throughout and then give us the full blown theme when he knocks out the Drone.... Let it Symbolize that Superman is finally here.

Sort of like the Bond theme in Casino Royale.

Of course! It was just sort of a disclaimer to what I was going to say after, now it could be my perception but people come across borderline offensively assertive when they post their opinion, others do it over and over and over And over and they're litterely in every page with the same thing, it's not just here but in every other thread about this subject.

Not offended in any way of course we're just talking movies here but when people start talking about "better than", it usually doesn't lead to a healthy discussion.

Yeah, theres a few things that looked strongly sourced, the birthing vines or whatever you want to call them being one. The thing that immediately jumped out at me was Zod riding in Clone Gunships at the beginning of the movie.

Re: Which Superman Movie is your favorite Superman movie?

Both I just can't choose, I like elements from the two films. I hate liking all the things.

Re: Which Superman Movie is your favorite Superman movie?

There are definitely a lot of people who will vote for MoS because its new or because they weren't born when STM came out and it doesn't resonate with them at a particularly deep level, or those that simply don't care much for Superman either way so will default to the one with bigger and better eye candy. In that regard its not a huge surprise that MoS is leading in votes.

But there are also those who will simply vote for STM because its "iconic" and the proper thing to do to maintain "internet street cred." You know who you are. ;)

Sure there are enough people who were genuinely put off by MoS (and will probably belabor the erroneous notion that he caused innumerable loss of innocent lives for the next year now) or who just didn't like it much at all for whatever reason, but I honestly believe that a lot of you who voted for STM would still choose MoS to watch if they were both playing simultaneously on basic cable and you had to take that "Pepsi challenge" in the privacy of your own home while no one was watching. So show everyone how your love of the "classics" refuses to waver, but we know how it really is. :p
