Medicoms look like a cartoon characture, and plus he is 1/7th scale. Look at the huge chest and little waist compared to HT correct looking human anatomy. Yea, their cape looks movie acurate, but the boots on HT looks better and the cape looks fine. Head is perfect.

After the Jack Bauer disaster, I'll never buy another Medicom figure again. The likeness was perfect in the pictures, but it looks like SH** in real life. I was really pissed off about that.

I'd have to disagree that the HT head is too big. Real people have bigger heads than comic book characters. And Medicom has always been known for very minimal face paint, which could make it look a little more like a toy.

...still getting all of them though...

Curious - why are there even different competing versions of Superman?
Sideshow/WETA was granted the license for LOTR statues, meaning that
nobody else could make them. Why the heck would whoever owns the
rights to Superman have duplicate items available from different vendors?
Seems pretty contradictory overall.

JS

I chose the Hot Toys version. It looks the most like Brandon Routh.
The Medicom's chest is too big, and the DC Direct version is awful.

Hey, I just wanted to drop a line and say thanks to pjam for posting a link to that store. I was able to order both Batman and Superman! After drooling over them since photos were posted here a while back, I thought I would have to try my luck on ebay, but it looks like this will be a painless (and cheaper!) way to go! Thanks again for posting that info, as I would have never found it otherwise!

I ended up ordering the HT version. I got a good price for both Superman and Batman from Toy Square.

Does anyone know how SSC decides which HT and Medicom figures to carry? I know most of us would order right from them given the chance and the price was right.

With all the biz this board's been giving to Toy Square, I think they should give pjam a commission.

Since I got my HT Predator today....I must say HOT TOYS HOT TOYS HOT TOYS.....Their stuff is great!!!!I need more HT's

Thanks all but it came down to which dealers carried these and TS happened to be the only official HT Dealer in North America so it was a no-brainer.

I think when a figure has a very limited run, such as these at only 800 each due to licensing issues, they will only distribute thru Official licensed dealers outside the United States. In the case of Predator or Aliens the runs are significantly higher and there are fewer restrictions on selling in the US so they make more deals with more US dealers, like SSC.

I found the TS site by going to HT home page and going from there.

Maybe DC Direct will get wise to the popularity of these figures, and offer them for sale much in the way they did for some of the Kotobukiya figures and kits. I really don't see the sales of one (HT or medicom) cutting in DC Direct sales, as the markets appeal to some different folks. I love that DC is doing some 1/6 scale figure, but 13 inches? and the body proportions look huge!! It seems like any Disney related property for Medicom will come through MR from now on...

I do remember seeing the edition size as "800" but that is no longer up on the HT site.
Don't know about Supes, but I read somewhere that HT are doing more predators. Maybe they are going to do more Supes as well.

I haven't seen any other Dealers offering these, nor are there many offered on evilbay these days, a sure sign the pre-order pre-sales are fading fast as these are shipping end of June/early July. If HT does make a second wave (like Aliens) it will be a loooooong time coming and there is no guarantee we won't be in the same boat we're in now. Remember, Aliens first wave came out in November 05 I believe, the second wave is being released August 06.

I'm just happy I'm getting my Supes about the same time SR is released...

EDIT: I just googled this again and see that Bigbadtoystore is selling the HT Supes for like $150.
