Why not keep rolling images like you already have?
I'm indecisive. :D While I like the rolling images, I'm not sure if I'm totally sold on it. That's why I might let you, the viewing public, decide.

There is no perfect SR figure (unlike Batman). The HT figure's head is too large and the suit isn't that great. The cape and crotch in particular. The Medicom figure's body shape is weird. The chest is way too large. The costume is definitely better than Hot Toys'. The face sculpt is still up in the air. And DC Direct's... well... no point in even mentioning that one.

I vote for "beady eyes Batty" only.

I appreciate the feedback. I'll probably do an actual poll this weekend. I feel kind of bad because whenever I change my avatar I get different comments that derail the thread people see them on.

Have you actually seen the HT suit up close? Because I am hearing the exact opposite, that it is extraordinary. The close-up shots of the suit have been posted on this thread and it looks amazing, down to the detail in the boots.

Thong?

Do people not know what a thong is?

This is a thong

"DLD edit - everyone knows what a thong is"

Hot Toys Superman is screen acurate and he is not wearing a thong. Speedo type undies maybe, but not a thong.

Yeah, I know. I meant ladies panties. I disagree about that being film accurate. The shape in the film appears to be the same as the classic films...and so does the medicom figure. (only as far as the underwear is concerned)

A little more than a week to go before we see him on the big screen. And I'm not talking about the figure.

That's a great point!

Hey, SoCal guys and dolls, where's everyone seeing it at? Mann's have great sound and giant screens but aren't stadium and have no parking. The AMC Burbank's crowds are too noisy, IMHO. Pacific Theatres are so dirty and noisy -- seriously, the "ushers" just sweep the trash under the seats all day instead of cleaning it up. I like a nice respectful audience that gets into the movie, a big screen and really nice sound system -- and parking. Any suggestions out there?

No question -- Mann's Village or National, whichever one it lends on. Biggest screens this side of the Chinese Theater (the original screen). No point in seeing it at a multiplex, where you hear sound spill, even with stadium seating.

IMHO

I was surprised by just how good the DC Direct version is, none of the pictures I've seen online do it justice. The suit and cape are made of really good material, and both the suit and the S shield are textured just like the movie version. Good face sculpt and paint apps. Boots looks great, nice detail. I was only expecting a decent figure, but it's a home run IMO.

I was just browsing Toy Square and noticed they're sold out of both HT Superman and Batman. I know Superman sold out a couple of weeks ago, I'm not sure when Bats went.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm very excited about these!

I live 2 blocks from Graumann's Chinese, my buddies and I have affectionately coined it "The Big House". Can't think of a better place to see it and there's plenty of parking at Hollywood Highland Complex, like $2 for 4 hours...

But, I am definitely going to see it again in IMAX 3D

Thanks guys! I'm sure you're right.

I was trying to avoid leaving 818-land but I know how great those Mann's are.

Do the big house, be a part of history. Star Wars 77 Superman Returns 06! Plus, you never know what they might have in store on opening day...

This is what was waiting for me opening day when I saw Batman Begins...

Wow! That's a pretty good review. Got any good pics?

I was surprised about how good the dCD one is too. Much better than the DC pics would suggest. The body is a bit misshapen for Mr. Routh though.

As for soCal - I'll see it at The Grove on the first weekend - it's a Pacific, but extremely nice with stadium seating, if not there than the Arclight, although they'll probably put in the Dome which I hate. Both the Cinerama Dome and the Chinese have terrible sound and seating as far as I'm concerned. Give me a state of the art theatre any day.

And then the 2nd weekend I'll hit the Bridge for the Imax version. Saw Batman in Imax there and it blew me away.

Totally understand the stadium seating, guess I'm just Old School. Love both the Dome and Chinese and the sound system in Chinese was upgraded, it is quite good in fact. The Dome sound is okay but I really dig the Cinerama screen, especially in digital HD and I like the other screens at the 'light too. I truly doubt Hollywood Studios would have so many Premieres at the Chinese these days if it truly had a terrible sound system, maybe not as good as the Grove but the JBL's there are fine IMO.
