That's weird. I would have sworn they had "Out of Stock" listed on there when I was looking earlier. :monkey1

King of the Geeks, Harry Knowles over at Ain't It Cool News, does a huge review for the movie. He says that Superman Returns does to Superman what Batman Begins did to Batman. If you decide to read it, be warned: there are major spoilers! Once he started going into story details, I skipped down to the end of the review to read the last paragraph.

This is all the review that I need. Now to just stay away from spoilers for another 8 days.

I would't believe anything that guy says. He's on payrolls.

Yup. harry Knowles is very low on my list of people to listen to.

He's not on anyone's payroll any more than any other critic. There are better reasons not to heed his movie advice. And what he loves about Superman Returns is everything I've feared about this project from the start. That it's TOO reverent of the Donner film. I would have much preferred a reboot along the lines of Batman Begins or ideally, a continuation of Smallville.

I certainly don't agree with all his reviews. Sometimes they're too geeky. I didn't read his whole review of Superman Returns for fear of spoilers, I just want to point out what I did see. With that said, I hope it lives up to my expectations. I'll be there on Wednesday.

Dave, did you read the whole thing?

Harry has the worst B.O. I have ever smelled.

Seriously, I graduated from UT Austin in 1999 and was at a lot of the screenings that Harry attended.

He needs a shower BAD!

;)

I'm avoiding reviews too - although it's 94% fresh on the unofficial Rottentomatoes.com index. I did read enough of Harry's reminiscencing about the Donner film to know where he's coming from though.

It does sound like that I'm going to like it though. As long as it doesn't have turning the world back by spinning really fast or "S"-shield giant fruit roll-ups - I'm bound to enjoy it - a lot.

Don't forget his magical ability to have copies of himself appear in multiple places at once.
I didn't put in a order for the Hot Toys Supes and I'm now regretting it. But since it's coming out in the next couple of months, I doubt I could pay for it with all the Sideshow stuff coming in that period of time.

The man is like 450lbs, so of course he's going to stink, just breathing makes him sweat. I should know, used to weigh 400 myself. :D

Here's hoping I find a HT Superman at SDCC, anyone think SS will carry him? Also what's a good price to pay for him?

I don't think SS will carry him and most on-line stores are sold out. You might be stuck with ebay and prices were already starting to go up before the movie came out. I'll keep an eye out for you.

The only one I could find on-line is Action HQ. They're still selling them for $139 plus shipping -- which unfortunatly seems to be Hong Kong.

Saw that, I think they were just released. Original release date was end of June/Early July. I'll call toy Square and see what they know as well...
