Hey guys bit off topic but what do u think of our national anthem, never really done much for me.

In my opinion the national anthem should reach down inside you and give u that feeling of pride and belonging.I'd much rather have a version of I am Australian.

Sorry Redman, I, for one, am against promoting segregation from the greater planet. I'm not even that proud to be an Australian, mainly due to the government and the over rated system of democracy. I see all manner of inconsistencies, and don't consider this, the propaganda plagued "lucky country", to be all that great, much less lucky. I do see the beauty in the places I have been to, and we do have a lot more going for us than many other strife ridden regions, so I could say 'yeah, bonza mate, she's a beut', but that's as far as I'd go.

The national anthem we have is as good as any. Seems to be in keeping with other countries national anthems, and I do agree "I am Australian" is a more heart wrenching song, but not that version in particular. At least people would be able to remember the first verse easy enough. No one else does girt like we do though. :lol I guess I can be sort of proud about that. :lol

lets not bring politics into any of this.. i agree but you dont want to get me started

Well said creech and i agree to some point but being Australian to me has nothing to do with the Govt's BS policies etc but more about the individual and how u respect and treat each other.

In other words giving everyone a fair go but i guess your own personal experiences will determine how u feel about that and fair enough i say.:)

Maybe its more an Intl motto but our general laid back attitude seems to make it somehow more fitting and the song(not necessarily the 60's vers)does encourage not only the beginnings of our nation but the migration, changes since.

Just feels so much more personal but your right Girt would be missed although i'm sure most australians wouldn't have the faintest idea what it means anyway. :D ;)

No more politics or even better no more politicians i'll drink to that.:duff

we're planning our honeymoon in australia/new zealand/tazmania. anyone recommend places to go, or tours etc...? we're having a heck of a time deciding on where to go, all the while keeping it within budget!!!

we're very interested in the cultural experience.

any help would be great. thanks!

The Sideshow distributor is in cahoots with this shop. It's more or less their shop face. They are supposed to be separate entities. When I was buying my figs from a guy, he'd put an order in for me. Because of the distance, he'd do a bi-monthly run to the distributors warehouse, to pick up my order. If there was something the store owner wanted, that was out of stock, I found that the store owner would pilfer items he wanted for his store, out of orders, like mine, that hadn't been picked up yet. :monkey4
