Actually a decent actor, personally I like him. Doesn't get a lot of roles (not sure if by choice or just not picked) and was actually in consideration for Captain America and Star-Lord. I think he will be great as Jack Ryan.

You didn't like him in The Office? I know some people found him irritating as you said with the look backs to the camera and some of the ways he said his lines.

I don't know him (never got into The Office), but I hope he does well. I love the Ryanverse, and while I've enjoyed most of the movies, I don't feel like anybody has every really nailed Ryan (at least not the version in my mind).

I don't know him (never got into The Office), but I hope he does well. I love the Ryanverse, and while I've enjoyed most of the movies, I don't feel like anybody has every really nailed Ryan (at least not the version in my mind).

Yeah, reading the books I didn't see any of the previous actors as really capturing Ryan, even though Clancy really liked Baldwin if memory serves. Affleck and Chris Pine were really off the mark. I can actually see this guy doing it justice. But we'll see.

Even though Ryan was in the marines, I never really envisioned him as exceptionally fit and athletic. Especially not later in the series. Another casting choice that bothered me was Dafoe as Clark in Clear and Present Danger. Don't get me wrong, Dafoe is great, but he was nowhere near Clark.

On that note, I always thought Without Remorse would make a great movie.

Yeah, I've wanted more John Clark movies than anything else. I heard they were doing Without Remorse years ago, but it never fell into place. Dafoe wasn't in my mind reading those books, either, but I thought he did a good job with it. I liked Schreiber quite a bit.

I remember Keanu was being courted right after Speed to play Clark in his younger days.

The Ryan look can be pulled off by him, as long as Dwight doesn't guest star as his arch enemy from Russia.

I liked his Jack Ryan movies. I also liked Hunt for Red October. Other than that....meh.

I liked Clear and Present Danger the most, keep in mind, I've never read a Clancy book and don't consider myself even a casual fan.
