Why are there no Sideshow Lando Calrissian figures?

He hasn't sold well historically and I don't think Lucas really encourages more product based upon the character.

If the likeness to Billy Dee is spot on I can't imagine true Star Wars fans and completists not wanting him in their collection. Bespin Lando is iconic Empire Strikes Back IMO.

That statement makes no sense, Lucas approved a chess table for 12 inch Star Wars figures and you're telling me there's no place for Lando.

In the mass market Lando does not sell as well, but I bet there are enough hardcore collectors that they could sell 2500-3000 of them. The skiff version would do pretty well since there are so many Jabba displays among collectors.

Being a Jedi negates all potential racism. Since there is no Chewbacca then we'd have to assume that Sideshow is racist against Wookiees too. :chew His Exclusive will be handcuffs since the poor guy had to play the role of a convicted felon in ANH and ROTJ.

I'm pretty pissed at SSC for not having released a 12" (Bespin) Lando yet. What ever the reason, I'd feel a lot better, if they finally reveal why. How old is the SW line? Three years? And still no Lando? That stinks. But they had plenty of time to do characters that only had minutes of screen time, not relevant to the plot, and even... animals!

That's an easy way out. Lando is a human character, Chewbacca is not. That being said, I don't think SSC has a racist motivation for not making a Lando yet. It must have something to do with the likeness rights. Or Billy Dee Williams pissed off someone at Lucas arts very good, and that's why they are denying him a worthy 12" representation. Either way, it is pretty ominous that there is still no SSC 12" Lando.

Is there evidence that Lando doesn't sell as well as other characters? Or is this an assumption?
I am surprised he has had no representation at all. Chewbacca I can understand why, but can't understand with Lando. I would buy a PF in a heartbeat.

But no Land up to this point is sad, but on the plus side of he's released on the Pro (and it has strong joints) he'll be even more awesome than if released earlier

I mention this from time to time when this is brought up, so here goes again. i think it has to do with Billy Dee himself. If you've never met the guy at a con, he can be a real ^^^^ when it comes to his part in star wars. Imy memories of him involve him screaming at some guy at dragon con, that he wasn't gonna sign a pic of lando a few years ago.
granted, he was thre promoting his book, but he's appearntly got this massivlely fowl taste in his mouth about lando.

I would love to see a Bespin Lando, though I'm not sure if I'd buy a General or a Skiff version. Hopefully we'll get one at some point.

If there were issues with likeness rights, there would not have been any Kenner figures in the vintage lines, and Hasbro would not have been able to make any in the 4" or 12" line. Hasbro just made a new Lando figure last year, and if they have the rights, by extension so does SS.
