No need to geek out on me man it was a joke. I don't think it says anything on the box about him being an alien anyway, i was just f'ing around.

I don't know either, I think refering to Mace as a AA is funny as well :lol

I mention this from time to time when this is brought up, so here goes again. i think it has to do with Billy Dee himself. If you've never met the guy at a con, he can be a real ^^^^ when it comes to his part in star wars. Imy memories of him involve him screaming at some guy at dragon con, that he wasn't gonna sign a pic of lando a few years ago.
granted, he was thre promoting his book, but he's appearntly got this massivlely fowl taste in his mouth about lando.
Yes, it is possible that Billy Dee himself is the obstacle in this. If so, why just SSC say so? Let us know what the deal is. They must know by now that a lot of us want a Lando figure. It's been mentioned often enough, hasn't it. And, according to SSC: "People Have Been Asking....". So, they made a Han in carbonite. I know I wasn't asking for that. But I've been asking for a Lando for quite some time now.
Billy Dee may be a uncomfortable person - I don't know, never met him - but, to be perfectly honest with you: I want a Bespin Lando figure, not a Billy Dee Williams figure. I might go with the General Lando version, but please SSC, don't ever push a Skiff guard Lando on us.

If there were issues with likeness rights, there would not have been any Kenner figures in the vintage lines, and Hasbro would not have been able to make any in the 4" or 12" line. Hasbro just made a new Lando figure last year, and if they have the rights, by extension so does SS.

Which brings up a valid question....are there any Star Wars actors that Hasbro would NOT have the rights to? I can't think of any, and was wondering if this all might be part of Lucas' original merchandising contracts with the films?

Two things Lucas is the definitive authority on: Licensing rights, and plaid.

The only known person to deny any likeness rights is one of the two women that played the Tonnika sisters in the cantina.

LMAO! maybe Lucas isn't always wearing plaid but just moving faster then light speed. But seriously likeness rights has nothing to do with this, Lucas makes you sign over your soul to appear in Star Wars. Besides that Celebration Luke would never have passed if it was a likeness issue.

i will never understand sideshows choices. rediculous troopers that werent in the movies (force unleashed nonsense) captain antillis, imperial officers, endor guys, not to mention a PF of a character that wasnt in the movies. Yet, no Lando, Chewie, Ep I or II Obi Wan, Emperor on throne, Tarkin, etc. just foolishness

I agree, I want all 3 Landos. Yes, I want Bespin, Skiff, and especially General Lando!! We also STILL don't have the droids, Chewie and Yoda. I think maybe Sideshow hired a monkey to make the character selections. The monkey throws a dart at the wall of Star Wars character pics, and whoever gets hit we get made! :D
Seriously, we also STILL don't have Tarkin, Boba, and I'd LOVE a Hammerhead DAMMIT! How about ANY Cantina alien!?
Or ANY of the bounty hunters!? UGH......

Yes...I do understand that quality takes time. I guess maybe we need to be more patient? But then we get offered the adidas Trooper!

Serious. :rotfl Why?

I think I read that either she never signed anything by accident when they shot their scenes, or that there was a fowl up in her contract specifying their likeness rights, so they were never signed over. I heard that she wanted to be paid a large sum to give her license over and that Lucasfilm didn't want to pay it. I could be wrong though. So, we get no toys or official licensed product with one of the sisters....for now.

Sideshow won't make a Lando because despite all the "demand," he's got to be one of the biggest pegwarmers in the history of pegwarmers. You really think 3000 people will buy Lando? In Jabba's Palace disguise, maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe, but I doubt 3000. Gigallo Lando from Cloud City, not a chance. It's been done already, by Kenner and Hasbro in both 3 3/4" and 12" and they couldn't GIVE him away.

Don't worry. Lando won't be much longer:D

Homer doesn't post much so most people don't pay attention but I'll have you know that if Homer says Lando will be released before too long, I'll notice it. You heard it here first folks.

But as someone mentioned earlier, perhaps he wasn't a mass market commercial success, but maybe those limited 3000 or so figures might sell to true Star Wars fans/collectors. But then again maybe you're right. :(

Was Homer not the one who had the leaked Yavin Luke image?
