Re: Why no love from Hot Toys for Rogue One Krennic, Cassian and Baze ?
No it isn't. That's just a marketing ploy to encourage fans to buy the comics and the books. I would bet pretty much any money that Disney and Lucasfilm would give exactly zero fraks if future movies or tv shows sought to change or contradict anything in their own already published books or comics. That expanded universe stuff is only canon up until it's not. And I think anyone who thinks any of the comics or novels are set in stone indefinitely for the future as far as current canon goes might find themselves facing some harsh and disappointing realities at some point down the line. No one is going to tell JJ Abrams or Jon Favreau or whoever "you can't do that because it contradicts with issue five of Star Wars: Take the Money and Run, published a couple of years back. You'll have to throw those ideas out and start again.". I just don't see that kind of thing ever happening. Ever.
Just my view, anyway.
It's the reason why they threw everything away into Legends and started their own canon novels and comics. Everything is now connected. So any messing with it is a certain no.
