1/6 Why no love from Hot Toys for Rogue One, Cassian, Baze and Saw Gerrera ?

I'm just hoping we get at least a couple OT Star Wars figures shown and put up for pre-order. Preferably Bespin Han, Lando, and the elusive Death Star Trooper.

I'd buy all three of those. Throw in the Gonk droid while you're at it! I'd really be happy with an ESB Lando at the very least. I wonder if they'll release a Lando figure from TRoS in his yellow outfit and throw in a young Lando head sculpt so you can use the figure in either a Solo or TRoS display.

There'll be at least 10 figures in production for The Mandalorian and Episode IX. Although it's unlikely those figures will go up on po before the Autumn. Now 'End Game' is out of the way we should start seeing a steady flow of releases of other SW stuff. If I was a betting man then I'd say we'll get at least 2 figures before SDCC (e.g. Jango Fett and the Airborne Trooper). Star Wars is not dead! There's life in the ***** yet!

Yep I agree. Marvel figures can't go on and on without end this year. Even Marvel collectors need a break financially, otherwise Hot Toys will only see a drop of sales for each figure.

I'd like to think Marvel belongs to the first half of the year, and Star Wars belongs to the second half of the year with Mandalorian and Ep9.

Obviously they can't show too much of either of those 2 new Star Wars stories for a while yet, so it would make sense to potentially release a couple of OT or PT figures in the next couple of months.

Can anyone remember when the SDCC exclusives were announced last year? I'm sure it was around the 3rd week of June. Any inkling as to what it might be? I'm going to be really positive and go for an all new figure, rather than a slightly modified existing one, and say TPM Queen Amidala and throne to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Phantom Menace.

I'm going to be really positive and go for an all new figure, rather than a slightly modified existing one, and say TPM Queen Amidala and throne to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Phantom Menace.

Amadala would be the only other PT figure I would get (with Obi-Wan and Anakin). As much as I'm not into female "doll" figures. That costume with dress and lights would be pretty epic looking. Only issue is that she doesn't look so much like Portman with all the makeup etc.

There's always room for more Padmes. Would you believe that's my number 1 most wanted figure? That and Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes. Not that I'm into dolls either, only highly collectable adult movie masterpieces haha. As for the PT figures, I'm a prequels lover (for my sins) and would welcome any figure, even Jar Jar, Little Ani, Nute Gunray, Lama Su, Jocasta Nu etc. I would draw the line at Dexter Jettster.

That red dress is so iconic. And yes, heavy makeup is an issue to show Portman.

If we are deemed worthy of a sdcc exclusive sw figure, it will probably be a trooper of some kind. Just my guess, maybe the airborne trooper. I can’t see that being a big seller as a regular release. If it’s limited, sellout.

Probably battle damaged Obi Wan to go with Anakin last year. I hope it's the Solo Mimban Trooper though.

Personally I hate SDCC exclusives. What's the point of limiting stuff only to people who are local to the event. Everyone else in the world has no chance. It's essentially then just for scalpers to sell on eBay at ridiculous prices.

I know these days typically they are also available online. So then what's the point of the "exclusive" title ?

On top of that Hot Toys limits themselves to a reduced number of sales potentially pushing up the price or limiting it to a boring repaint of an existing figure.

That all may come across as negative, but I just don't get it. I assume you're relatively local to SanDiago. How would you feel about exclusive figures if Comic Con was held annually in Germany or France or Australia ?

I couldn’t disagree more with regards to the Airborne Trooper. Any Clone Troopers would be huge sellers. They’re the sort of figures that scalpers will have up on eBay for twice the price within a year of release.

With regards to whether they’d put it up at SDCC, it wouldn’t be a huge shock if they release this before and then put something like the regular 212th Attack Battalion up as the exclusive.

No way that the airborne trooper will be an exclusive. If you are looking at troopers, maybe a Shoretrooper variant. Exclusives are usually "repaints" of something. Hot Toys are not stupid. With the amount of Commander Cody they sold, they probably have an estimate of how many airborne trooper they will sell, so no way that will be an exclusive.
