1/6 Why no love from Hot Toys for Rogue One, Cassian, Baze and Saw Gerrera ?

HT should consider changing their brand from Hot Toys to Hot Marvels.

Pretty soon it’ll just be Disney’s Hot Toys, and they’ll only make what Disney thinks will make bank. Oh, wait. There already doing that.

I saw a picture on Instagram from hot toys showing 5 Spider-Man far from home figures. I know we’ve seen 3 in a row. Were the other 2 already released or are we in for 2 more Spider-Man preorders?

If we're talking about the same picture, all of them are up for pre-order except for the main black and red suit in the center.

The bottom two are from the PS4 video-game.

I think this is all to be expected. Spider-Man is very popular and the movie is right around the corner. They're going to make as many Marvel figures as possible right now between Endgame and Far From Home.

There will be a little bit of a movie tie-in drought as there's some time between FFH and the first Phase 4 movie.

The first of the Phase 4 movies will also probably only have limited figures (1 or 2).

Well now Spiderman is out, we might see something new from Star Wars OT next week. I'll be really interested to see if HT do actually do any figures from the new EA Game coming out.

Wonder how long it was after Star Wars Battlefront came out before we saw the first figures from that game come out. I think the Snowtroopers were the first. But can't be 100% sure.

Anyone know that ?

With Saw in the game, and presumably in the Cassian series the chances HT do him is getting slightly more likely imo.

Nope, they haven’t finished milking Spider-man and End Game yet. With the re-release of End Game we now have even more Marvel figures to look forwards to... yipppppeeee.

Thanks MyenShi. I think those are actually in hand dates, not pre-order dates right. So that means they must have had the first ones up for pre-order close to game release (1 year before in hand figure). I'm just mindful that they showed a lot of Scout Troopers in the game preview, and HT have been working on RotJ, so that might fit.

Then again I have the SS version which I'm fine with. OK HT just do Saw Gerrera

That is also interesting that they released 3 figures for a game. OK essentially a repaint and some accessories for Shock and Jump trooper. But Snowtrooper was legit ESB (plus some extras if you wanted to display them as a game representation).

I personally think they'll do the same with "Fallen Order" release one or two which are also OT relevant. Then it's 2 birds with one stone and added sales to Hot Toys.

I agree, some of the troopers are a safe bet. An actual character like the Second Sister would be nice, but odds are against it.

Purge Trooper - The signature trooper of the game. They’ve already made a prototype of the airborne clone armor.

Scout Trooper - They could do it in the same style as the Snowtrooper. Have a pure RotJ version, and then have a Fallen Order version with the extra gear and close combat weapon.

Flametrooper - Mostly a rehash of a Snowtrooper, it looks like. Not a given, but it’s doable with minimal new tooling.

Yes, nice logic. Makes sense to me.

A flametrooper is probably pretty much a given to me. He was also shown in the Mandalorian footage. So am sure he'll pop up somewhere. Not particularly one I want at the moment, but no doubt I'll want him if they release one after the show & game is aired.

Purge Trooper is interesting. Especially that they showed the airborne (of all clone troopers !). Tooling maximisation right there !

The flamethrower wielding Stormtrooper with red markings from The Mandalorian trailer is based off the Incinerator Trooper from The Force Unleashed.

There’s another flamethrower trooper in Fallen Order that looks like a Snowtrooper with a bit of Shoretrooper in the face mask.

It would be easy for Hot Toys to do both, however.

I agree. I hope they take advantage of the Marvel drought to do a good number of Star Wars figures from everything new coming out.

Hell, after 3 releases in 6 months I'd happily take another Chinese teapot trooper at this point. This is all kind of sucking the excitement out of SDCC. I'm wondering if we'll see anything more than 4 or 5 new figures on display. We desperately need something to get excited about.

Honestly I think we might not see any SW POs until SDCC begins. 1/6 Spiderman main suit must be coming. Then, it's probably Lion King Cosbabies. Probably one of the SDCC exclusive will be a Spiderman as well.
