So what are everyone thoughts on this?

Seeing as Hot Toys has been redoing the Predator characters they did in the past and has corrected some of the rubber/plastic issues on other figures (namely Batman). Is it time that Hot Toys "redoes" the Xenomorphs?

Also, if Hot Toys doesn't go the complete rubber route, would you be happy with a mostly plastic Xeno? Coupled with Hot Toy's detail and paints...

i would be happy with completely plastic, not mostly.
the alien design doesn't need that rubber body for a figure at all.

I don't know if they are popular enough, but of course they could use updating. The Aliens ones all have broken joints and decaying rubber, and the Big Chap--which I actually happen to love--is seriously inaccurate according to the nuts. . .er, collectors who would know.

I still have my Big Chap. Wasnt he released in 2009? He's holding up great. No rubber issues.
Im usually not one for OCD details but there were so many misses on the Big Chap. The Medicom version was great, just too frickin small.
I would like it if HT did 2.0 versions of the Xenos, BUT they need to make them more accurate. And no more of this spring loaded jaw crap.

:exactly::goodpost: The creature design itself would hide most the joints and the plastic should keep that slimy/wet look of the creature. I have the Dog and even with minimal posing etc. it still looks like it has worn over time.

as long as ht didn't use rubber bodies and jaw tendons again , and do them film accurate I would buy them.

As much as I'm a Predator fan I don't care for the Hot Toys Predators that much. Still waiting for a P1 2.0 and Wolf 2.0. Those will be my only Predators from them. I've always wanted to get the Hot Toys Aliens but knew that the rubber, joints etc suck. I hope they redo the Alien line into 2.0. Would buy them all.

This franchise definitely needs the 2.0 treatment, no rubber bodies, make the joints sturdy enough that they don't need a stand and include a hive background display

Honestly would be strongly tempted by 2.0 marines. Aliens....definitely wouldn't touch unless plastic and unless they take accuracy seriously this time - don't buy a movie license and then just make up your own ****.

Didn't HT also has Prometheus license? Would rather they do a 1/6 Engineer first....for some reason I think Xenomorphs look better as statues. I regret over-paying for my HT Big Chap, as the Medicom one I got first looked much, much better. Rubber on both figures are holding up well after 1 year despite claims that some Medicom rubber spontaneously disintegrates.

Agreed. And I think, given Tsang's slow but undeniable progression with sculpting these creatures, the 2.0 versions will be massive improvements. No more unnecessarily slanted teeth.

The things they can do with paint apps and bodies nowadays... :drool

no, no and no.
tsang = lack of details + screwing every shape.
alien = hundreds of details + an exact match of movie shape, otherwise we already have kenner.

I suppose at one point or another HT will revisit the Alien franchise, but to be quite honest, I'm not too interested...
Unless they get NECA's Tankman to sculpt the aliens for them. :D
