Will Hot Toys redo the ALIEN/Xenomorph Figures?

A lot of good points. I think the main thing is something that was already touched upon. Hot Toys needs a material that won't deteriorate like the rubber did on these figures and the joints do need to be strengthened. Considering that they have faced challenges with their rubber/plastics lately (leaking Batmans, Iron Man fading underwear), I hope they do have a R&D task force on this.

It would be foolish for them NOT to do the Aliens again, they have come a long way since then. They just need to properly address the challenges and concerns to give us a quality project that won't break down after spending a year on the shelf.

Unfortunately, I think a return of the Xenomorphs is something on their back-shelf. Considering their figure load upcoming (you know HT is drooling with every superhero movie announcement) and backlog of figures, I don't really see them doing these figures again for another two years at minimum. Reportedly, Howard Chan is also more of a Predator fan and let's be honest, they're a little easier to make.

I think if the superhero genre ever dies down or slows up, then you'll see Hot Toys jump on the backlog of classic movies and start re-doing figures from then.

I don't know if they are popular enough

and the Big Chap--which I actually happen to love--

A L I E N is dead. Ripe for a reboot and/or a new creature.

:D

Anyway, I have the HT Big Chap, which is fine for me. Detailing accuracy aside, on the shelf he looks awesome. The jaw-fix was enough for me.

I also have that blue Aliens alien, which is a joke. Keeping it only to prove to the youngin' here that HT was not always GOD.

I do not want new aliens unless they finish the Nostromo character line they started with Dallas and Freddie Mercury as Kane.

i hope they do. but for the love gawd, keep Tsang away from this line.lolz

if the old doggie prices goes down. i wont mind army building them. doggie alien FTW.lolz

You know... I'd like them to go not only all-plastic but ONE-FOUR on this license.
I dream of Giger's classic desing in this scale.

IF it is at least 80% accurate, especially in head/mug department.
Those awful cinemaquette and maquette still haunts me in nightmares...

I sold all my predator and aliens because posing was braking them :(
I would not pay to replace them with better quality
The dam power loader broke assembling it !
My 2 cents

I still have that crazy Tonka PowerLoader. The hoses own weight over time break the tabs. Still, it was amazing they even made that thing -- I think i got it more because of the excitement of HT making it than of me actually wanting it. Happens in this hobby. Someday, when most have broken down or just been tossed, I will have mine. And I will be happy.

I'm with you on that one. Personally I don't expect HT to put out any Aliens in 1/4 scale (not even sure if they'll revisit them in 1/6) so I always thought I'd see what NECA did in their 18" Aliens line and buy one or two of those. They'd make decent placeholders.

I hope they do gigers alien in quarter scale too...

Their 1/6 left much to be desired

The cm had good hands, ok head but not accurate, but the swinging around pose was divisive...

The maquette had a nice head, but the details were sloppy and Dracula hands

The sano sculpt from Roswell, was almost perfect, but not movie style wrist ribs, and no elbow spikes, and again the pose was divisive on the other end of the spectrum.

The kenner is great but has toy proportions and soft details ...and a surprising correct striped midsection like the outfit overlap portion....even the reaction version has this horizontal striped midsection...

I think you see a divide when it comes to accurate Aliens.

-There are those fans who want it EXACTLY like the movie suit/props. I exact number of frills, ribs, details, etc. Even if it includes excess bulkiness due to the "man-in-a-suit".

-There are those who prefer the "idealized" look. Or the approach that the filmmakers want you to believe. Thanks to CGI, this is more achievable.

Liberties are going to be taken when you try to do these in statues, 1/6 figures, etc. and for the most part, I see a lot of merchandise lean towards the "idealized" look.

Yup, you can see how they missed some stuff on the maquette. But I can see what they were going for and as an Alien fan, I'm fine with it. I don't need the 100% dead-on accuracy.

Neither do I.
There's a ton of inaccuracy in that maquette but head and hands are the only highly salient ones.
If those were closer to "the approach that the filmmakers wanted you to believe" then I'd buy and loved it.

As long as they don't do the stunt man in the suit version....I like the proportion of bolaji in the costume best
