Will Hot Toys redo the ALIEN/Xenomorph Figures?

Neither do I.
There's a ton of inaccuracy in that maquette but head and hands are the only highly salient ones.
If those were closer to "the approach that the filmmakers wanted you to believe" then I'd buy and loved it.

The heads always draw the most critique and criticism. I don't think I've seen an Alien figure/statue/model/etc. that fans have universally agreed upon as a definitive accuracy...especially when it comes to the "beloved" Xenos like the Big Chap and the ALIENS drones....oh and the Queen too.

But the Big Chap takes the cake because it is the original.

Whats the best 1/6 scale big chap you can buy right now reasonably? I understand its all expensive but you know what I mean.

It would depend on what you deem reasonable. Although smaller than the hot toys Big Chap the Medicom Alien is really nice. It doesn’t have the HT paint job but the sculpt to me looks closer to the Alien.

I'd get new ones--Big Chap, warrior, dog, red, queen, facehugger, eggs. I don't have any, but I've heard too many horror stories to buy these in the secondary.

Yeah I think I would want the scale to match SS and HT as much as possible. Ok So pretty much HT. Unless there is another brand? Ill have to check around

The closest likeness would go to the Roswell 1/5 statue, because it is almost an exact replica of the original sculpt by giger which is now on display in gruyere...
However, the caveat is that it reflects the character sculpt made for production around bolaji's form, but does not reflect the final hero suit with suitmation wrinkles, actual colors, or the peeling skin-- it also lacks the movie accurate elbow spurs and paired fingers on gloves with wrist ribs
( kenner had these),
and there were flat horizontal elements at the very top of the trouser section, just beneath where the ribs overlap ( also as shown on the kenner sculpt which appears as random horizontal stripes around the midsection)....
also many dislike the static nature of the figure...it was after all a sculpt for a suit.

The medicom is pretty accurate, but small, rubber suited for the most part, and the mouth is a little off...the paint is unrealistic and also suffers from separated digits...though fairly accurate, not terribly impressive as a figure. It has the same narrow dome as the ss maquette, but also nice profile...

The ss maquette is great overall look, but has an incorrectly shaped dome around the face and cheeks ( though the profile looks decent) imprecise and inaccurate details throughout, and Dracula hands....is huge though and has interesting colors.

The only other I'd say is the cinemaquette, but it has an incorrect profile, ( the head is too tall) nice face and mouth, correct hands, but a pose many despise...though it was supposed to reflect the moment it spun around to attack Parker.
It has the correct "peeling skin" effect, not reflected on the Roswell, or most other representations.
Also the heel is not tall enough ... Kenner alien captured this detail beautifully.

Hot toys 1/6 is nice, but doesn't scream alien...the shape is all over the place, the head shape, profile, mouth, skull, interior, ...it's all inaccurate ...the details are precise, but they are grossly inaccurate...I loooove hot toys, but they really missed an opportunity to create something special....one of the few times medicom whips ht's butt...
The fingers appear as branches or flippers depending on which are attached.
The feet shape are wrong...should appear as a high heeled wedge almost with a flat sole...

The neca alien is pretty awesome, but I'd wait for the the next 1/4 scale for a new and hopefully DEFINITIVE alien figure

Yeah if you get rid of 1/6th and reasonable then Sano and failing that the Marmit vinyl would be the ones you want.

The hands are huge and the fingers aren’t joint but the Marmit one captures the creatures likeness better than anything else I have in my collection. I don’t have the stooped statue but that also looks incredible, don’t have Sano either.

Ok thanks for the info :) sheesh maybe I should wait and see what comes up. Obviously they will be doing Big Chap till I'm dead a buried. Influential film.

My collection is to be very limited and deliberate and I would like consistency so looking for a 1/6 figure in similar scale to HT and SS

Seriously though I would wait to see if hot toys do a 2.0 on their Aliens line. Might be awhile till they revisit big chap but I personally don’t think their current one is worth the asking price you find on the secondary market.

The recent SS statues are pretty close to the scale your looking for

lol Hugggge. Is that the 1/6 city hunter? I have that as well. wow. Yeah I might wait. It needs to fit a detolf lol

Ah.. I didn’t fully read your comment :slap. I don’t think they fit in a Deltof, maybe the bottom shelf but they are slightly to big. Large bases.

I’m sure something will either be released or you’ll stumble across one that screams that’s my alien! :hi5:

That Marmit is awesome. The Marmit or the Sano would be my grail Alien pieces I think although I don't think either are 1/6 scale.

If you want the best 'Big Chap' in around 1/6 scale I would go for the Medicom RAH..I can't say enough nice things about that figure especially compared to my HT Big Chap which I regrettably paid huge bucks for on the used market. The biggest gripe people have it seems about the Medicom is that it's a 12 inch figure rather than 1/6. But alot of the other Alien statues are not really done to scale anyways so who cares. HT may surprise us but personally I don't think they'll be revisiting the Alien line anytime soon.

as much as the movie sucked donkey *****, Alien: Resurrection xenomorphs deserves to be made. gotta love them chicken legs.
