Re: Sideshow Ringwraith Polystone Statue

Honestly, the chances are good this will come in stock again. They usually do near the time of shipping.

And if not, I will have an exclusive for sale. Really was looking forward to this guy, but now that I'm jettisoning most of the collection, and the other maquettes have already gone, I won't be keeping this one either...

My exclusive RW waitlist has been cancelled even though there are 2 months to release date, weird..

Yeah me too! :( So disappointed. I was almost sure I was gonna get my waitlist converted because it also happened to my Arwen and Boromir waitlists. Now I'll have to rely on luck and chance to get the Ex from people here (calling SS freaks out there!) who are willing to sell, or from some eBay sellers who are going to take advantage of this. :(

Yeah that sucks I almost took a chance with the wait list but just decided to cancel my order for the regular and pay the cancellation fee and just purchased the EX from a member here. eBay members really tick me off and it is hard to believe how high I am seeing these sold out Sideshow figures go for. I have seen the Uruk Hai Berserker EX for as high as over 4k on EBay. I can only imagine the Ringwraith EX being quite a bit higher than the original price. Hopefully some will only be asking $100 more any higher than that would be Inhumane.

it's just supply & demand, i dont know why you guys get so worked over for. /shrug

I bought many statues on ebay well above retail but that's just how market works, have no issue with the sellers. If they price it too high then it will simply remain unsold...

I dont pretend to understand why some of the statue go for such high price but that's what people are willing to pay and there is nothing wrong with that.

Supply and demand whatever that is still ridiculous what these EBay sellers are asking. I guess if everyone was rich in these hard times it would not be such an issue...but all in all 4k for a $350 statue is ridiculous. The reason I get worked up is because I cannot afford that and I do not even think I would pay that even if I did have the money...as a collector the asking prices will make it impossible to own a figure that is not even worth anything close to those prices. At least I can say that when I sell a figure I do ask a fair price. It may be higher than what I paid but not seriously jacked up. Then again one is not forced to buy these figures on EBay for these high prices...but again as a true collector it does make collecting kinda suck and takes the fun away.
I'm not trying to start an argument here I just think people in general need to grow a heart especially when it comes to selling to collector's. Of course I am pretty much positive the jacked up prices on certain Figures/Statues are not being sold by collector's themselves. I am clearly living in the wrong century.

Anyway just to get back on topic and something more positive...I cannot wait to receive this Ringwraith PF EX he is going to look beautiful next to some of my PF's that I have not even received yet but will once all flex payments have been paid and of course once several of them are released.

same way most people cant afford a maserati or many of the luxury stuff they want in life, if everyone can equally have everything then it becomes communism (well the ideologic version anyway)

it's funny you complain about not able to afford a $300+ collectible statue which is a pure luxury item not a life necessity, meanwhile millions in us cant afford a meal or heat with legitimate complaints.

What do you want the seller to do? lower the price below the market & lose their profits, just so you can buy it?

I never said I cannot afford a $300 plus figure heck I can afford a $2000.00 figure...I just can't stand seeing a $300.00 figure going for over $4000.00 that is pretty unaffordable for many and at that point IMO not worth it...and dude please do not get into people not being able to afford food and all that crap yes there are people in far worse condition than you and I but you seem to really be getting too deep in this so I will conclude what I was venting...$4000.00 for a $300.00 plus figure is ridiculous....I completely understand selling on EBay for profit I do it...but damn that is one heck of a mark up...if you feel the need to keep arguing this you sound as if you are one of these particular sellers...and please if you want to argue anymore just send me a pm none of this needs to be posted here.
Starving people who cannot afford heat give me a break in that case let's all stop collecting and donate to AIDS in Africa.

Is the seller actually ASKING for it, eg Buy-It-Now? Or is it an auction and it has reached that high?

If it's the latter, then you really can't complain if someone is willing to spend more money on it than you are.

Yes it may be expensive but if people are willing to pay it, what can you do?

No unfortunately the ones I see are all "Buy Now" for those prices but yes if people bid up to that price then that is totally different and a good deal for the seller.
One of them is going for $3500 but I have been seeing them go for higher...look can we please forget I said anything about this please let's change the subject.

Okay point taken. I did not for some stupid reason take into consideration that no-one is forced to buy their auctions...in fact I have seen some on there for over three months now. I am just guessing and hoping that if they catch onto that no-one wants to pay the outlandish amount they will come down in price.

Anyway I decided to thin out my collection of Hot Toys figures in order to make some money to put towards some more Lord of the Ring PF's. Several of my Hot Toys Figures have just been sitting in their box anyway and after owning a PF I would be much happier with some more of them.:)

moving from plastic dolls to statue? you are on the right path to enlightenment :wink1:

I'll be cancelling my exclusive soon as I will need all the funds I can scrape for Dark Rider and Sauron PF

They are not dolls they are posable Figures!!...well, at least that was my opinion until I finally received a really nice PF.lol Yes having a PF next to a Hot Toys figure to me they do look like plastic dolls now. I am still keeping my line of "Predators" though they may be plastic dolls but they still look cool. :nana:
Yes I am glad I decided to move on to real collector sculpts I am almost a little embarrassed about showing off my Hot Toys to friends like they were true sculptures God knows what they thought of me...well like I really care anyway.
