Glad to see people several after me confirm "woke" literally is a meaningless word used to try and slander something that a person doesn't like or agree with but is most often meritless.

Femme Fatales, Lead Heroines, Final Girls all had a huge rise in the 20th and 21st century, but you enter any topic discussing a female lead today using the word woke and its like they blatantly shy away from those characters so they can push their agenda.

Strong female character doesn't automatically equal physical strength or martial prowess although it can mean that. Any and everybody should want a strongly written character with a rich and deep backstory, goals/motivations, strengths/weaknesses, quirks, and memorable aesthetic. Its literally the mark of a worthwhile character human or otherwise.

That is my final say on that matter, I would like to discuss the trailer and its story implications and what people wanna see regarding figures for the franchise.

Turns out trailer scenario gonna be a side quest in the game and you can actually save the girl! :monkey4 :monkey3

I am super excited because my Custom Painted/Rooted 1/6 Ciri and Geralt sculpts from Forest Totem just shipped along with a Grave Hag Trophy.

I purchased the original custom Scaletta Geralt that released a few years back and the MTToys W3 Geralt.

I think for the Scaletta I am going to have a custom toxicity sculpt made that is bloodied and cake that thing in mud so I have a battle damaged post hunt Kaer Morhen W3 Geralt and a clean Kaer Morhen W3 Geralt.

I would love some of the Witcher Monsters in 1/6 but they would likely all have to be customs.

Well, there are a lot of shows/movies/games that are purposely woke for the sake of woke. So they are out there. But Ciri being a protagonist in W4 is not one of them cause it was a natural progression. If people have a problem with it, they weren’t real fans of Witcher. I would prefer Geralt myself, just because I like him so much as a character, but I am not opposed to playing as Ciri.

But is that woke or just poor writing?

What defines woke? Somebody mentioned earlier that you get IP's with insanely powerful white male characters with no flaws and a very poor narrative but it doesn't get a woke label. So is woke simply a strong non white male character, it certainly seems that way based on the discussions out there.

I say all of this as grown man who as a kid and still today cherish and love Arnold Schwarzenegger and all his films especially Predator and T1/T2 so I have no bias against the typical straight white male archetype.

As you mentioned, the people who hate Ciri weren't real fans to begin with so **** em. Its totally ok to like and prefer Geralt as I do as well, he simply has that sarcastic wit that Ciri doesn't.

My two favorite Geralt lines are when he tells Yenn how great she smells at the funeral in W3 and in Blood and Wine when one of the contract issuers is being a dick he laughs at him for being cucked by one of his farm hands and the guy doesn't pick up on Geralt's sly humour.

Have you seen Acolyte? Or She-Hulk? Those are woke shows. Where they deliberately shove a certain message down viewers’ throats. Or the new Dragon Age Veilguard game where the game is lecturing players on pronouns and how to behave. That’s woke.

As far as movies go, I’m fine with female empowerment with strong female characters as long as it’s believable. Emily Blunt in Edge of Tomorrow was badass. The show Lioness is super good with a team of specially trained female CIA agents. But someone like Rey, without any training, is able to beat a Sith, in lightsaber duel no less, the first time she picked up a lightsaber, or coming up with Jedi powers on the fly that no one has ever been able to do is not believable and complete crap.

I mentioned Rey earlier as well for the same reasons as being a "Mary Sue" which I think can apply to male or female characters as just bad writing.

I won't watch the Sequel trilogy ever again for many reasons but Rey and the absolutely travesty of the writing including how she was written among other characters is the reason.

I understand what you mean with Dragon Age Veilguard. In this instance I think the pushing a narrative/agenda is more apparent than any other I can think of. This is one of the few examples that actually articulates and makes sense regarding pushing an agenda vs Female Protagonist = woke which is so often the case.

Did anyone play The Witcher 3 Nextgen Update? The reason I ask is because that included 1 new lengthy quest and it felt like it belonged right there with the original 2015 release and this was released after many of the notable studio departures. Gives me a small bit of hope that CDPR can still release a good Witcher game even after so many who worked on the series have come and gone.
