Thanks for your impressions Dennis. I'm surprised you picked this one up...well, not entirely surprised considering you have an amazing Alien / Predator collection.

Hope you post some pics of where you have the wolf displayed. Cheers!

Bought it today from local shop. Personally inspected to make sure there were no issues.

It's an amazing piece and a centerpiece level collectible.

Is it perfect? Of course not. Upon close inspection (6 inches or less) you can definitely pick up sloppy paintjobs. The netting on the undersurface of the legs are a little sloppily applied. And on and on.

But only a Joe Dunaway level paintjob can withstand that level of microscopic judgment. And on a piece of this scale and complexity, that would cost thousands.

The pose and art direction of this piece is simply outstanding. I don't think it's too small at all. I own most of the major Stan Winston Studio pieces including the SS Exclusive Maquette, the 1:1 bust, Wolf 1:1 bust, Alien Warrior 1:1 bust, etc as well as the CM Pred and around 20 or so Joe Dunaway/Narin build ups and this piece absolutely deserves to be in the conversation for best Predator statue. Paul Komoda has A LOT to be proud of, I think this is his best work by a country mile. The great Narin himself could hardly have done better.

Bravo, bravo, bravo.

Dennis

Great write up friend and coming from someone like you, means a lot. Still have no regrets that I purchased this.....still holding out hope for a non broken piece in its long haul across the states. Gonna to be a challenge for me not to open this up today. MUST RESIST THE URGE

It took THREE people including myself over an hour to open the box, put it together, inspect it carefully and then move partially packed to my minivan for transport.

Understand one thing:

The two heads with the dreads are INCREDIBLY big and INCREDIBLY fragile. In fact, once you remove those heads you CAN NOT put them back without a huge amount of work. The way it was packaged, some of the dreads actually were punched into the surrounding styrofoam for stability. They have some give but removing them was really, really difficult.

TAKE YOUR TIME. Too rough and you absolutely can snap them off at the tips where it is embedded in the surrounding foam. And again, i can't see how I would be able to replace it in its original position without running a high risk of damaging those dreads let alone doing it well enough to insure arrival unbroken if I should ever ship it.

This is definitely one of those statues that are going to be either a permanent keeper or "pick up only" type of piece.

Exactly why I am not going to remove it from the shipper till I am in my new place...granted, we will not be staying there forever. If or when I move again ( which will be a few years ) I will be certain that this piece goes with the absolute and utter extreme care. Meaning I will probably end up carefully packing the heads and weapons in a separate, well protected BIG box...again they will be taking a ride with me in my personal vehicle and only handled by me ( as with my other extremely fragile collectibles ).

UPS United States 03/21/2013 6:06 A.M. Out For Delivery

Usually if they do not deliver before lunch...most of the time it will either come at around 2pm ...if not then it comes after 6 pm. I am probably the last stop of the day for him, considering the size of the package, usually, its what it seems happens to me with UPS :(. Looks like its gonna be a long few hours.

.....sounds like someone isn't going to be able to keep from opening it......:wink1:

I got tons of stuff to do around the house today to get ready for my move....it will keep me occupied the rest of the day, till later when I am settling in for the night. That is going to be the true test.....maybe I can get my wife to distract me :rotfl

uh huh. I'm not buying it. ha, ha.

Stronger man than me if you can keep from opening it.

I wouldn't buy it either...ha ha. Especially with how big of a fan I am of Wolf. I am about in tears right now because it arrived and I just keep staring at the massive size of the box and it seems...just out of my reach. Its going to take a lot for me not to open it later. On a positive note, the shipper looks in great shape...considering how darn heavy this thing is. I only found a few places where it looks to have gotten banged up a little bit. I did not hear anything rolling around inside when I shocked it around a bit, so thats also a positive... ( does not mean anything ).

My fear is, after seeing the box, I am having doubts about it fitting in my car. I mean, my car is a hatch but not a large one....if anything I can get one of my friends with an suv to help me move it.

Even my buddy Conan ( my bearded dragon ) approves of the package

CONGRADS wolfpred!!!!! Your guys are killing me... I still have a loooong time until I get mine! But... I'm actually really excited to see what they do with the next predator LSF.

I have heard that as long as you keep them oiled that the rubber will hold out but...seems kind of a pain. Personally though, I guess you have to take care of your collectibles as in making sure they stay clean...etc. I guess its part of the hobby. I have always wondered if Hot Toys predator dreads will suffer the same fate as they seem like they would become brittle overtime.

sounds like the base should come with a dipstick and oil fill hole lol.
seriously though I don't thinK i want to mess with oiling the dreads on an LSF seems like there would be a lot of hard to reach places and possibly damaging them while doing that.

Unless a ton of stuff is announced I will probably get this down the road. I had to cancel it for some lifesize stuff I wanted that popped up. I'm glad I did not lose an NRD.

Reminds me of the Time I had the Lifesize AVP egg shipped to my workplace. I only have a VW Jetta and I think a guy I work with was laughing inside when he told me I had a delivery downstairs. I had to come back with a hatchback and it barely fit and was hanging out the back but I got it home. Now I just sent huge stuf to the home and take the day off lol

I was not giving my ol' Mazdaspeed 3 enough credit. Plenty of space back there once the seats are down. I have the hatch cover in the back that hangs above the window and it makes me forget that there is a ton a space back there. Measured it and I should have space to even fit a couple more things.

sooooooo.....still staring at the sealed box?

You are a better man than I my friend..:) My Wolf shows up this coming Monday.. I'm having it held at the UPS station and picking it up on my way home from work! I'll be into that box as soon as I can get my box cutter out..LOL! OPEN it.. open it now...:)

maybe he will succumb to peer pressure.

I'd be tearing open the wrapping like a 15 year old in a whore house.

The Wolf ain't going anywhere. Go for the wife distraction. :yess: :lol

He should probably open it and at least take a look at the condition of the dreads. But after taking a look like that, he's going to say, "The hell with it!," and open the rest of it. :D

WOW Centurion yours came that's real cool.... can you take a photo of him in his display case. I'm real tempted to flex one and just wondering what size plastic case i would need. It's the QC that scares me even more than the price :panic:

Also do you prefer this over the legacy scale iron man which i also love and is £200 cheaper
Thanks David

:clap:clap:clap:clap Great news and congrats!!!!

Thanks fellas! :duff

If I get a chance tomorrow I might do a photo shoot with it.
For now, here's a couple quick pics:

Best photos in the thread, Centurion.

WolfPredatorAVPR, what creatures do you have under that bearded dragon?

Just realized your dragon's terrarium is the exact same kind I used for my boa when he was younger. And the one directly below it is the same kind I'm using for my frogs, and the one with the green lid is the same kind I'm using for some scorpions. :lol
