yeah those on the LSB were different than the wolf bust or hcg bio..

I only got the P1 LSB once and returned it because one of the dreads was cracked off when it got to me :slap

Though they did seem like better design to me than the ones that seem to be pure rubber.

I have heard that as long as you keep them oiled that the rubber will hold out but...seems kind of a pain. Personally though, I guess you have to take care of your collectibles as in making sure they stay clean...etc. I guess its part of the hobby. I have always wondered if Hot Toys predator dreads will suffer the same fate as they seem like they would become brittle overtime.

that last video is great. It's a damn cool piece. It's very tempting to sell my CM Pred since I already have the SS maquette.

I was thinking that's crazy but you could get the Wolf LSF and pocket $1,500 or so.

tough call, CM Pred is outstanding.

I know. I'm pissed at myself for letting myself think about it, but at the same time, I could use the extra cash, and I don't think the CM Pred value could be any higher. Problem is, I only have the color box, not sure if I would just have it for pick up only or not. I value the accuracy of my maquette, and besides the leg netting, Wolf looks pretty accurate and has switch out parts.

I just heard back from my LCS. SS is offering $100 credits or wait a while for replacement parts. I will wait :(

So SS Alex offered a response for the Obi-Wan Mythos (omitting the saber hilt)... Here's to hoping he peruses this thread as well to explain ADDING the inaccurate leg netting. :duff

It was great to see this in the resin, and be able to really examine it. The paint apps on John's were really nice. I hope mine come like that. I actually really did the netting on the legs. The details all over this statue were great! I wish all good luck with theirs.

ONE MORE DAY TILL IT ARRIVES!!!! How hard is it going to be for me to not open it up till saturday? Its going to kill me but I think its best to wait till after I move as I am sure its packed the best it can be on how it comes from the factory. This bad boy will going to have a ride with me in my personal vehicle to my new location ( along with all my other collectibles :)

Good luck with your move. Being a collector and moving...what a nightmare. :horror

Bought it today from local shop. Personally inspected to make sure there were no issues.

It's an amazing piece and a centerpiece level collectible.

Is it perfect? Of course not. Upon close inspection (6 inches or less) you can definitely pick up sloppy paintjobs. The netting on the undersurface of the legs are a little sloppily applied. And on and on.

But only a Joe Dunaway level paintjob can withstand that level of microscopic judgment. And on a piece of this scale and complexity, that would cost thousands.

The pose and art direction of this piece is simply outstanding. I don't think it's too small at all. I own most of the major Stan Winston Studio pieces including the SS Exclusive Maquette, the 1:1 bust, Wolf 1:1 bust, Alien Warrior 1:1 bust, etc as well as the CM Pred and around 20 or so Joe Dunaway/Narin build ups and this piece absolutely deserves to be in the conversation for best Predator statue. Paul Komoda has A LOT to be proud of, I think this is his best work by a country mile. The great Narin himself could hardly have done better.

Bravo, bravo, bravo.

I own all three and it is pretty close.

The one thing that you simply can not beat is the incredible pose in combination with the base. There is a kinetic energy to the piece that quite frankly I've never really seen before and I've been at this for awhile. It really does look and feel like Wolf is in mid-leap.

It makes the pose of the Sideshow Exclusive Maquette seem wooden and puppet-like by comparison. Almost like the Wolf is the final result of the evolution of sculpting dynamic movement in statues.

The base also is wonderful and with the Alien, almost is another statue in and of itself.

I definitely see a lot of Narin's influence with this piece actually as I study it more and think about it.

Of the three, the Wolf maquette has the best pose by far and in my opinion the best base as well although the swamp and mask of the CM Predator comes close.

I would just go through Sideshow and Flexpay it if you can swing it.

As good as this piece is, I'm not sure if it is worth giving up your CM Preddy for. The paint apps depending on the specific statue you receive is not as good as those on the SS Maquette or CM piece.

It took THREE people including myself over an hour to open the box, put it together, inspect it carefully and then move partially packed to my minivan for transport.

Understand one thing:

The two heads with the dreads are INCREDIBLY big and INCREDIBLY fragile. In fact, once you remove those heads you CAN NOT put them back without a huge amount of work. The way it was packaged, some of the dreads actually were punched into the surrounding styrofoam for stability. They have some give but removing them was really, really difficult.

TAKE YOUR TIME. Too rough and you absolutely can snap them off at the tips where it is embedded in the surrounding foam. And again, i can't see how I would be able to replace it in its original position without running a high risk of damaging those dreads let alone doing it well enough to insure arrival unbroken if I should ever ship it.

This is definitely one of those statues that are going to be either a permanent keeper or "pick up only" type of piece.

Congrats! I wish my local shop had one to look at. :monkey2

Each distributor only allowed 2 pieces each. Price point even with dealer margin is likely too high to order without guaranteed preorders for most stores.

Hearing that about the heads scares me. I always think about if I have to sell something now, how hard it would be to pack a piece back up. Idk, everyone keeps telling me to keep the cm. I don't have room for both, so idk, I will prolly end up keeping him I guess.

Finally got mine in today. Thank goodness, none of the dreads snapped or chipped off.
What a fantastic piece.

Really, the only thing that I can pick on is the leg netting. Other than that, just about everything else is a work of art.

I'm glad I decided to keep my order. This one is staying in my display case.

To be honest it can also vary from piece to piece. There was an unpacking video on Youtube where the guy took the heads out with one hand pretty roughly with no problem. Maybe I was just being paranoid and extra careful but for me, we opened it real time together and removing the heads was tricky. Granted the dreads ARE flexible so there is some give but it is nervous business for sure.

Also not mentioned is how delicate the whip hand is. It's not sturdy enough at the handle and there is a concern it may crack over time under the weight of the rubber flexible whip. It's also tricky replacing the whip into the foam as well without cracking the handle at the hand.

WOW Centurion yours came that's real cool.... can you take a photo of him in his display case. I'm real tempted to flex one and just wondering what size plastic case i would need. It's the QC that scares me even more than the price :panic:

Also do you prefer this over the legacy scale iron man which i also love and is £200 cheaper
Thanks David
