Well, I think Im certified insane but then everyone knows this already! :rotfl If you got it, you would spend it somewhere right?
Why not on somethings you love to have and look at everyday? Thats all after you take care of your family, bills, charity of choice, etc.

About the Service and pricing etc. SS is still the very leader in the industry. I have customs this big and they dont have the quality that SS offers for the price. Although they are great and big, you know its the SS that kicks butt when it comes to the quality of these 1:2. I will show you if you like...

What I admire most about SS it that, they have the courage to offer these to the collectors. I tell you, its not easy. There is so much they must do to get this kind of quality to us from China.

Ok so they didnt include a rage unmasked head, no big deal. Its not like we cant customize our statues! All the HT guys do it, why not us?
I tell you what, you guys just wait and you will have your extra head, by an equally great artist.

Lastly, I keep going back and looking at all the new 1:1 out, and then I see the price point! :horror
What I see is that its just bigger for 5-6x price point than these, so to me these statues are a bargain at 2K.
Keep them coming SS! And thanks you so much! :clap

Ave, I'm not saying we should stop collecting the things we love. Just that jacked up pricing must meet expectations, based on the past history of excellence from this company, which for me, with all the corner cutting, is headed in the wrong direction.

As for customizing(?), now that is truly insane! Why should we have to customize anything(?). & pay even more for it, especially at 2K! I don't see collectors customizing, Doom PF, Hulk PF, Cap PF, Thor PF, Iron man 1/2 Scale, Spidey com, Venom com, Xmen vs Sent. #1 dio, Hulk vs Spidey dio, .........etc Why? Because SS came really close to getting them near perfect, & at much more reasonable pricing. For 2K, all paint apps should have been perfect, & extra parts/options should have been included. Hell, they do it for lesser statues, why not this?

But I do agree, that at this level, they are the top players, as I've collected from them for years. Which is why I am disappointed in the strategies/direction they are presently implementing. Seems they are not breaking new ground to justify their insane pricing, but rather product has been compromised. Oh, & just releasing larger versions still does not justify all the BS.

As for it being a hard gig for SS? Please. They have been at it for 20 yrs now. They should know & do better, not worse, & certainly not at our expense.

happy collecting to all.:peace

I think we all here understand that nowadays it is a take it or leave proposition with Sideshow. Vote with your dollars if you want to make a stand.

Sideshow is the biggest company and they are acting accordingly to that status. They feel they have cornered the market at the top with all the licenses the have acquired. Premium Format at 1/4 scale is the standard. Everything else is noise. LSF is the premium "premium" format. Larger size not relative to increase in quality.

That's the hard truth that no matter how much complaining happens will not change. Unless someone else directly competes we are all at the mercy of what Sideshow decides to make and how they decide to make it. Meaning that the only ones competing against Sideshow is themselves when they don't make a piece that most people like hence losing a sale.

Welp, congrats to whomever gets the WL conversion as I decided to cancel mine after all. Awesome piece overall, but I can't forgive the laziness on the battle damage.

i love mixed media ... still happy with my purchase even if it was 2 g's. I'm a new collector and it def helps the make the man cave stand out. :)

Welp, congrats to whomever gets the WL conversion as I decided to cancel mine after all. Awesome piece overall, but I can't forgive the laziness on the battle damage.

It's the only part of the statue that I was disappointed with. You don't actually notice it when you first unbox it, purely because your so wrapped in how huge and emmense the statue looks overall. Once you have it for a few days on display you start to notice things that you never looked for when unboxing and that's when I noticed the poor paint app on the battle damage shoulder guards.

It's not so much the scratch marks or puncture wounds, it's the terrible outer battle damaged marks that run along the outer edges and what makes it stand out like a sore thumb are the fact that they've made it look so symmetrical and giving each paint app a 2cm gap of each other all the way round...we've all agreed earlier on the thread that this style of battle damage wasn't included in the order pictures on the SSC website nor was it the same on the prototype statues that they used for the conventions.

I can understand how some would feel extremely let down by this...lets be honest, it wouldn't be the first time SSC have let us down with bad paint apps is it. I think we can all think of a few stand out pieces where SSC changed certain details of the paint app from what we saw in the order page to what we actually recieved, one that I remember was the Rogue PF if I remember correctly. However, these are $2k statues, for some of us it is a heck of a lot of money so should we really accept these errors by SSC? Some do not seem to too bothered about the shoulder guards as it is a minor thing so that's all good but then there are those out there of whom it will bug the hell out of and I'm one of them. I can see if something don't look right or unnatural and the guards just looked very amateurish and being an OCD perfectionist i just couldn't leave it as it was.

With that said, would I not have ordered this piece had I'd known the paint app would be so poor on the guards? Yes, I would have still ordered it due to the guards not being the principal focus of the statue. Like I said, I didn't even notice them when unboxing and setting him up. I may indeed bring this point up with Sideshow and see what they have to say. I'm not expecting to get a positive reply as everyone's shoulder guards appear to look the same and are consistent with each other...so they'll only say that everyone was painted the same, and if I'm not happy with it then I should return it for a full refund. However, when we are deciding to spend our good earned money on something we love due to what we've seen in pictures we shouldn't expect to recieve something that looks so different when recieving it should we....the pictures are there for all to see...

For those who havent seen the first time, here are the comparison shots of the shoulder guards including the what we recieved, what the proto looked like and my repaint to try and make it more realistic...

The comparison is of this pic is what we saw on the SSC order page (on top) and what we recieved (on bottom)

The comparison of this pic shows what we recieved (on top) and what I repainted (on bottom)

And finally the comparison of this pic shows what the prototype looked like that we saw at the conventions (on top) and my repaint (on bottom)

I've said it before, spending 2k on a statue should not require you to have to customise certain parts of it due to it being different to what you saw from the order pictures. Those who have this piece that are bothered by the shoulder guards may not feel comfortable or confident enough with having to try and repaint it so I'm afraid it would come back down to what I said earlier...SSC will only explain that all have been painted the same and so cannot issue out any replacements and that if you are unhappy then you'd have to return it for a full refund. I will bring this to SSC attention and let you know any updates once I have heard back from them.

RobertoBagg10,

Good points all. Sorry/pissed to hear that at 2K SS did not take enough care to insure total excellence.

Having said that, your repaint is simply fantastic.:clap:clap:clap
I nominate you to take over SS QC dept., as presently, someone is surely asleep at the switch.:slap:dunno

I really, really like this piece. But, there is too many characters I'd want and it's jut not practical at this price point and size.

Gonna wait for Batman and that'll be the one LSF purchase for me. :)

Congrats Mamba! Great pics and good to see yours arrived in one piece after hearing the last few stories...

Any chance of some close ups of the shoulder guards? Want to see if SSC are being consistent with their paint app...cheers bro :hi5:

Here you go bro...

I personally don't have any issues with his shoulder guards, yes your repaint is better, but I am ok the way it is.

Some more pics, can't stop looking at him, when you have a 1:2 scale statue with a non-boring pose like this, it will grab your attention for sure.

When I first got my first Sideshow PF (Wolverine PF) and second Sideshow statue (Iron Man Mark VI maquette), I knew my collecting habbit will change, at that time I had bowen and koto statues, next thing I know my bowen and koto statues are history.

I feel the same way now with LSFs, I feel this wolverine statue is the "right" size for me, maybe soon all my PFs will be a history :panic:

I have to say Mamba, your guards have the looked the best so far, especially as far as the right guard goes...There is still that cut-on-the-dotted-line like paint apps for the battle damage but nowhere as bad as we've seen it. :clap

First big congrats to everyone who purchased their Wolverine LSF:) I am a huge fan of him and overall I like this statue but what I see from the line of LSF except Wolf Predator that Sideshow couldn't do justice to that LSF term! If we agree about the fact that bigger is better then I would like to see life-like arms! The veins of the arms and the hair application looks so poor! Then why I spent 2 thousand dollars ( in turkey it is a lot more expansive) for a LSF if the statue doesn't have a legendary! arms:) Further the claws are the only major feature of this character and they are not made of metal! Why? If the premium format of Wolverine figure could have it or even Hot Toys Wolverine then why a LEGENDARY figure can't have? We all know the answer:) It is not for safety but only to reduce the costs! Yeah I know they look like real metal but then what is the point of calling that line LEGENDARY:)? Another problem is the poor base application and lack of creativity! Lastly it doesn't make sense to customize a LEGENDARY figure to make it perfect or flawless!!!

Couldn't agree more mamba in regards to how you feel abt the LSF's. I was talking with a friend last night and had a similar view about collecting only LSF's in the future and selling off a number of my PF's...the LSF's just take collecting to another level. When I showed Wolvie to my family and friends yesterday, you should have seen their faces! To say their jaws dropped to the floor would be an understatement! Ha!

Even Elmo popped round and made his feelings clear! :)

Is Wolverine the only one you have right now?

Wolverine is my 2nd, I have Wolf predator LSF.

I know...this Wolvie is not good for my smaller statues, they feel like step children, nobody will pay attention to them :lol

It seems that this wolvie lsf is not as big as i thought before. The reason why i asked comparison with thor pf classic because it seems that thor(30inc)is as tall as wolvie (31 inc). After seeing this, i think the way i look at pf is totally different. If lsf stays at $2000, i'm thinking of getting it if ss release superman or batman. Damn u ss, u make e want to spend even more

Well let me know if and when you decide to sell your PFs. I do still want the Wolverine PF :)

After all this bashing of colors Qc, I think you go back and realize that for the price, SS produces the very best in 1:2. There is no doubt about it in my mind.
Coming from some experience with collecting 1/2 for a few years now.

He is just incredible next to the others, even with minor paint variations
