I didn't cringe at her as much as I did at the villains. I kept thinking about General Grievous doing the evil fingers things whenever they spoke.

Steve was really good in the movie, I agree with that. And yeah, the reaction was a bit weird.

Look there are moments where she shines as WW, her innocent face helps her carry the role somewhat.

But holy crap some of her line deliveries, especially on the island, was mind blowing bad, like high school play bad.

I mean no joke, how did she earn her SAG card.

Bautista out acts her!

I mean sure in some regards it's better than BvS but in others it's actually worse.

People can hate Marvel but they are on a smooth rhythm that WB so sorely and desperatly needs.

She's always been bad. Even in Fast 5... that put her on the map.

I've just been waiting for everyone else to catch up.

Looks like the HT doll is the best thing out of this movie.

Nice to see some honest reviews from people not afraid of feminism backlash. This looked terrible from the trailers alone, especially the CGI action scenes. I could've went tonight for a free screening with my friend who runs an AMC theater (most movies I get to see for free). Decided to pass. Gadot can't act very well. She was crappy in her FF movies, in BvS, and she certainly wasn't gonna be any better in this. The one scene alone from an 8 minute you tube vid was all I needed to see how bad she was in this. Women are being blinded by their giddy girly goggles, and men are afraid to speak the truth.

I think her grand entrance as WW in BvS along with her cute innocense tricked people into elevating her range especially since WW was going to be what saved WB so grasping on to her was a critical part of that equation.

Exactly. That's how she works best. Small role in F5 too. She can't carry a movie.

At least the world makes sense again. DCU still in trouble. All is well.
Yeah, I'd be okay with a reboot. Start fresh. Not that I have faith that they could get it right...

Doubt it. This faux success, if it does well enough at the BO will give them enough wind for JL and Aquaman at least, and if they still buy reviews then, then no hope for a reboot.

Had they started buying reviews since MoS at least we would've got a consistent and interesting injustice/madmax Snyderverse, but now we will probably endure a confused focus group driven DCEU that wants to be MCU but not quite.

I just got back from this. It was really good! Charming, well acted, music was well used, story was logical and unfolded in a fulfilling way-- NOT A GIVEN AT ALL IN A DC MOVIE. I thought Gadot was really good. Can't really understand jyes complaint to be honest. She speaks with an accent, and is obviously naive, as per the story. But apart from that, acts circles around the by the numbers chick in Rogue One imo. And I didn't see that in bvs. Pines interaction with her really helped with that.

My favorite thing about the whole film was Robin Wright's performance at the beginning. Just perfect in that role. And the main villain was quite well done.

Pretty conventional story narratively, but I think DC needed that. Best post Nolan DC movie by a mile, and rivals anything Marvel Studios has done. I give it 7.75/10.
