So...

Diana tells Steve:

"I have no father, I was brought to life by Zues." Clay blah blah blah.

Then she
gets all shocked when Ares tells her that Zues is her father. Seriously what the hell is the difference between the two?!

Apples and oranges dude. Either way she came from a man. What got me was when she says the Amazons were created to protect man from evil but they don't even want to leave the island. Kind of like He-man calling his friends the masters of the Universe but they never leave Eternia.

So I haven't seen this, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned her sword and shield. If these are special weapons, specifically the sword, why is it totally different in the Wonder Woman movie than the one she had in BvS? Does her mom/the Amazons take it away from her after this and she has some regular Amazonian sword in BvS? That makes no sense. It would be like giving Cap a different shield every movie, or Thor a different looking hammer (yes the pommel and wrappings have changed, but not the hammer itself). Can anyone explain the different sword?

Nowadays, these companies are essentially interchangeable. There is a standard way that comics are written, and that crossovers are handled, and how they are rebooted, etc. Writers go from one company to the other like it's no big deal. But pre-Marvel, DC was not very good. They could be fun, but disposable entertainment. There was no characterization to speak of, which reflects the fact that they were writing comics for very young boys. Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Steve Ditko then came along, and changed the game fundamentally. DC eventually had to respond, but it took a good, long while (really the late '60s) before they could even hope to compete with what Marvel was doing on a quality writing level. So yes, DC developed the Atom, and Green Arrow, and the Flash first. But Ant-Man, Hawkeye, and Quicksilver were much more interesting for a long while.

Yeah, that's true. But considering we're ~60 years past that point, it's kinda moot. I never really places to be honest, so I always picked and chose what I liked and didn't really pay much attention beyond that. I will agree that Marvel forced them to start making their comics more well-rounded and less "silly fun", but DC ended up creating Vertigo while Marvel's MAX line had only a handful of good titles, so...

Also, Thor BTFO: https://www.comicbookmovie.com/thor/wonder-woman-would-kick-thors-butt-according-to-gal-gadot-and-chris-hemsworth-a151573

Poor Odinson, he just can't catch a break. His hammer is taken by Jane "Gurl Powah" Foster, he loses his hand, he becomes an atheist/loses faith in himself and everything 'cause a cranky old man told him so, he ends up in the HYDRA-Vengers, and now this. Maybe he should just go ahead and ask God Doom to build him a better hammer "monkey3.

Her whole life she thought she was brought to life by Zeus from clay because her mother wanted it.
She thought she was an actual Amazon.

Of course she'd be shocked to know that she's a product of the sexual intercorse between Zeus and his own creation.
That's like livin' your righteous Christian life then suddenly the Devil appears and says "See? People are actually evil. Oh, by the way - you're Jesus."

She loses them in her fight with oldman Ares. She didn't have them at the end either although she has them in the JL movie.

They're all just simple swords.

There never was a special god killer sword, she was tricked by her mom. WW is herself the super weapon. Cap's shield is special because of the vibranium. If anything though her bracelet is what absorbed Ares energy blast and then used against him. Her bracelet is really a key component to her powers.

So is the power to absorb energy and shoot it back at her opponents her or the bracelets cause I don't remember her doing that before

Thanks, but kinda dumb, no?? I Mean obviously it's some special one of a kind magical sword.

SO she loses it in battle and just says "aw, **** it??" Doesn't look for it. Is it destroyed, or does she just feel "who cares?" But whatever... Another dumb plot point for me.

Ok, got it, thanks. Now makes sense so ignore my previous post. :)

Well by the end she goes beyond the sword and shield. Like the song says she stops a war with love.

Diana be like: "I'll kill you with my god killin' sword!"
Ares destroys it like nothing: "It's not the sword, Diana. YOU are the god killer. Join me and together we can rule the galaxy..."

Thanks for clearing that up, but still don't like that DC gave her powers she never had before in her 76 years of existence. No reason for that.

From DC wiki :

- Superhuman strength, speed, durability, reflexes and longevity
- Flight
- Skilled hand-to-hand combatant
- Utilizes Lasso of Truth, indestructible bracelets, boomerang tiara, sword, and shield

So now we add energy absorption/deflection. Didn't like that crap in BvS, so in this they use it as her most powerful defense. Why? Unnecessary..

I can only imagine what they're gonna make Aquaman do....And not in a good way. :lol

Even in the comics, her sword isn't permanent. Think it was the new 52, Hephaestus made it so that her bracelet would each generate a sword, out of thin air, when ever she is ready to battle.

I haven't read comics in a minute. Is it a metal sword she can creat or like a sun sword ala Thundar?

Umm... The New 52, man. Since 2011.

Really? Thanks. Never read about that before. Haven't read that many comics since early 2000's. Still unnecessary to me. DC for me has butchered a lot of their characters with the whole new 52. From look, to origin.... Marvel too. Can't get behind any of the new crap. Trying to be new/different/fresh is very rarely ever the way to go. These characters are classics and have stood the test of time for a reason. Just come up with good stories rather than gimmicks. Marvel is the worst with their events. After the Cap Hydra crap, everyone is gonna be a venom symbiote. Whatever....
