I was fine with WW having cartoony villains. Again I found that to be Donner-esque. Unfortunately they weren't nearly as memorable as Hackman, Stamp, Nicholson, Ledger or even Weaving. You're right about the uplifting ending though. A great turnabout from DCEU status quo.

I mean I could see myself warming up to WW because of that heroic crescendo and just like with STM it certainly has that rewatch ability factor built into it because of that reason.

I am not kidding around when I say that her entrance in BvS is one of the best superhero moments ever created even with it being spoiled by WB...what dummies lol.

Her BvS entrance is right up there with Reeve first flight in costume, Keaton Batman overlooking Gotham with billowing cape and Joker interrogation in TDK.

But that's BvS not WW.

I do have the urge to see WW a second time though so I guess it did something right.

Logan can be a tough rewatch and not so much because it is a dreary movie but because its climax ends with his demise where WW ends very uplifting with what is her birth as a superhero.

But WW could never have her Logan movie moment she is too indestructible, she doesn't have her kryptonite.

She can get bored with saving humans though and just walk away I guess lol.

Jye, do not let Khev indoctrinate you again. You know Deep down Wonder Woman was awful, stick to you your guns :lol

X-23 > Wonder Woman by far. She even gave a far better performance than Gal.

Damn pturtle just destroyed Gal with his X23 hypercombo lol

You're right crows no does mean NO!

I will NOT be a victim to Crosby Khev's WW enthusiasm.

I will NOT let Crosby Khev lure me into his WW love lair and slip me a Gadot mickey.

You go Jye!

You're right she doesn't seem to have a kryptonite which shows what a good move it was to kill her "Lois Lane" right before her eyes. That immediately made her much more sympathetic and has never been done in a supehero movie outside of ASM2 (that I can recall.)

Acting can make an already good movie even better or it can be distractingly bad. Gadot's performance did neither so it's a wash. Harrison Ford's performance in TFA was better than his acting in ANH but that obviously didn't make it a better film. If we're going to camp out on nothing but acting performances then we might as well purge all superhero movies from our collection and start commissioning custom dolls from My Left Foot. :)

By the way pturtle, we get that since WW was a good movie you of course hated it. But things have changed since the Suicide Squad thread. I hope your plan isn't to simply counter every positive post with "no way, it was absolutely awful" because if so then, well, let's just say your post count might be stuck on 10,159 for a while. ;)

Just so you know, custom There Will Be Blood figures is a sizable cottage industry :lol I do have a J.J. Gittes figure on my display.

More like comparing ice cream with a hamburger that really, REALLY wants you to think it's a steak. ;)
Is this another way of saying that Wonder Woman is really a man? Because I agree with you, if that's what you are saying.

Deaths being witnessed?

I think these fall into that category:

Steve Rogers death while Peggy Carter talking to him.
Logan dying with his daughter sitting next to him.
Stark watching his parents being murdered by WS.
Magneto as a child watching his parents being murdered.
Thor watching his mom being murdered.
Lois witnessing Superman die.
Starlord with Yondu.

Wait, what am I missing here, is that what you mean lol

He's talking romantic love interests to the protagonist dying from what I can see. I guess Peggy falls into that category, but. . .ew. Maybe the Thor one fits, as well. Not sure how they do things on Asgard.

I meant death of the leading superhero's love interest. To my knowledge that only includes Gwen Stacy and now Steve Trevor.

Otherwise you could add TFA Bucky and both Pa Kents to that list.

EDIT: I guess you can add Jean Grey at the end of X2 to the short list but Cyclops professing his love to Jean through Patrick Stewart...blech. :lol

:lol :lol

We are comparing Wonder Woman to Logan now huh? While I liked both movies I liked the hopeful vibe that Wonder Woman gave off and giving us a change of pace for the dceu. I want them to succeed badly.
