Although she's certainly an attractive woman, IMO Cobie's waif-like face suggests handmaiden/commoner rather than a regal, immortal Amazon who possesses "the beauty of Aphrodite." The actress chosen to play Wonder Woman may indeed be "skinny" before the physical training starts, but her face radiates that goddess thing along with inner warmth and a touch of innocence -- that's WW folks, not an icy "eyes on the prize" athlete/soldier or a snarky, smirking streetfighter looking for payback. Perfectly cast Lynda Carter upped the ante by providing Moulton-style "baby fat" along with the aforementioned innocence, regal qualities and sheer goddess-like beauty... talk about a tough act to follow! That said, using someone like Cobie as the model for this SS statue was an audacious and admirable move, as it gave the piece a decidedly different, ultra-modern "every woman" flavor that downplays glamor yet still appeals to both sexes. It's certainly realistic and grounded, offering more of a figurative Wonder Woman for the 21st Century, straight from the gym and in between business meetings so to speak, rather than the actual on-model character we've known all these years. But I'd be afraid to cast Cobie in the upcoming movie, where her "commoner" facial features and overall persona would clash with WW's exotic, goddess-beauty needs. For the record, she's absolutely perfect as that dutiful, extremely efficient, waifish-looking SHIELD agent... the figurative "son" Nick Fury never had and can always use!

Even if they used her for the base of the portrait, it doesn't look like her. She has a very plain kind of beauty, and the statue doesn't. It's not quite Gadot's level, but it's still exceptional.

I would never have guessed that they based it on her. (And good point about Carter's babyfat.)

Although she's probably too old, Cobie would have made an interesting Wonder Girl. Some have complained that Debra Winger wasn't beautiful enough to play Diana's sister, but it was Winger's semi-hoyden precociousness that defined the character, not goddess-level looks, an "Oh, fudge!" adolescent charm mixed with attractiveness and spirit. Cobie could have worked in a similar way, updated to current sensibilities...

I'm not sure Smulders is sass as much as she is snark, but I don't know what she was like when she was younger. It's possible that a 21st century Donna Troy would be a smartass, and not just fresh.

Paula Patton... maybe a couple of inches short (and a few yrs older), but I thought she looked damn fine in Ghost Protocol.

Fuuuuuuu I think I'm gonna have to PO this, not having the trinity would be lame.

I'm a Marvel guy and still had to have all three when I saw Supes for the first time. PO'ed Bat that same night even though he's the LOLOLZ 20000000000 made Reg.

It's just hard to deny the Trinity. Imma put WW in the middle.

You would have to be an idiot to cast Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. She could do all the physical training in the world and it's not going to help her as an actress. She needs to go to school and work on her skills before she involves herself in anymore roles. With her as the lead, the movie is destined for failure.

Gal Gadot 4 Lyfe

Finally some news! Her face looks a tad manly in my opinion also the positioning of the spear just looks awkward. Should have stuck with sword and shield. Any idea on the exclusive?
