This may work but it will depend on where the shield separates from the arm. That could pose a problem.

Theres that or at the art store I go to they sell tiny easels for small (less than 4"s) canvas, those could work too.

Looking at the pics the shield will probably detach from the mid forearm and since it completely covers the arm and hand it won't be a problem to display it in an improvised holder.

I'm relieved this thread didn't take off for at least another 100 pages after the release of these awesome pics! Thank you to SS BurningRage and others that shared them. I really didn't want to wait until Tuesday to see more. I can easily wait until next Thursday now to pre-order.

I might see if I can find one of those stands used for displaying plates small enough for the shield, and display it beside the statue.

Very smart idea or maybe lay it down on the base! In a way you cant see the arm!

Looks like an acid monster spit on a big pillar then took a 5h1t on it and spread it out evenly, placed a part of a smaller pillar on top, stabbed it with a sword, placed a helmet and then finally comes Wonder Woman and takes a battle pose on top of it all.

Seems legit.

Btw that shield is **** for posing. Pick any Side and you will see that either you can't see ww or you can't see the shield. Def need that battle axe.

Welcome to the other universes! Lol you can only resist for so long. This thing is simply stunning. Most likely the best statue ever made. This is so nice that it just happens to be Wonder Woman! This sculptor could be the king if this comes out as good as what we see in those pics. I hope he can do a Big Barda for us in this style.

Ax looks to be the EX. Classic SS raised leg pose is the only thing I am not 100% on.

I have not heard ex or fail yet? Ex or fail? This axe is looking better and better every time. With the axe we can make her look like she's going on the offense instead of the shield which makes her look like she's on the defense. I guess I need both. So EX or fail!

The axe looks fantastic, and obviously options are a big bonus to many; however, I personally don't see this one as being Ex or fail. I'm sure in the aftermarket the axe will net you more if you choose to sell it, but I think the shield looks spectacular as well, so it's a win/win no matter how you go about ordering!

I'd have to think Ex or fail is saved for things that really lose something if they aren't displayed with the Ex.

Yeah, I was going to use Red Sonja as an example, but decided to leave it a bit open ended. But yes, she's a good example. Her holding the severed head really brings the statue to another level over that of the simple weapon in the air stance. And I don't think that people hate the axe! This thread has been incredibly positive in the response for the statue, really! And rightfully so! I just think the Ex is an Ex, and a beautiful bonus to those who get it; but not to the point where those who don't get one will feel as though their statue is lacking in any way.

Well said. And I think the real prize is this beautiful WW sculpt itself. The axe is a nice bonus as the ex. I'm glad SS did it that way instead of the shield because no WW statue should be without that beautiful shield. If the shield were the ex THEN it'd be ex or fail.
