SS, you about lose CBG as a loyal customer :horror

No as long as you keep Mark Newman, Tim Miller and Steve I'm in for a long time. They are the real kings of this hobby :) btw can we please get Tim back to PF statues? black widow got me excited again after I opened up the box. It's been a while since I liked a new release that much.

Thanks. :) I know I'm going to get flack but I am asking for a refund on my NRD. I feel like Sideshow is getting into pump and dump territory with their insanely high ES. Congrats to all of you that have her but I want out. 6000 to 7500 in total ES would have been reasonable for WW but 9500 is nuts. This is NOT a limited collectible imo so I want my nrd back. I am getting Supes and then I'm out. Shocked they milked Wonder Woman as much as Batman. They don't do this with Marvel so why do they milk DC? These ES aren't even reasonable. Anyhoo, just imo. I know a lot of you don't care.

Ya I can understand why you would cancel, I also like to own statues that are somewhat rare if possible, But for me I need WW to finish out my trinity shelf and nobody else makes a 1:4 scale WW since SS has the license locked down... To be honest given the insight we got with the Obi-Wan mythos statue, I doubt SS will produce the whole 9500 allotment... I'd would be surprised if they make more then 5k total... I think SS just wants to cover itself on the off chance that this statue becomes a really hot seller...

In all honesty, for every mistermark Sideshow loses, they probably two or three new customers because these are more readily available to consumers. I can imagine back in the day when you had about three minutes to get your preorder in it was pretty hard to attract new customers. Having a statue be able to spend more time available for purchase on their website is what is going to catch the attention of new customers. And like Dan said, they don't have to make all of them, just have enough available to meet the demand and attract new customers.

What happened with the Obi-Wan mythos statue?

SS didn't make the full Edition Size of 2000.... They didn't think it was selling fast enough so they stopped around 1300 or so mark... But now 3rd party stores are requesting them so SS has decided to finish out the run... I have a feeling this happens more often then not...

Thank you for bringing valid and educated points to both sides of the argument. :) For me, I would have no problem with like them matching Superman ES. But no statue company has ever done statues this size and price for such a ridiculous ES of 9500 for WW. I'm sure others will replace my buying as a customer but for me, my Sideshow days are done after Supes. I look forward to my Supes Ex ad think his ES was high but reasonable at 7500. 9500 is just insane for Wonder Woman but you may be right about how many they produce. Who knows, but for me that number is about 2000 too many which equals overkill and makes me far less interested in her so I will pass and ask for nrd back.

Is this more than batman?

My priority is character; price and ES are not as high priorities for me. So I wouldn't cancel my WW.

But while not following his actions I can still understand where mistermark is coming from. My first thought was does the statue not look as good because the ES is high? Is your value of the character affected by high ES? I think in terms of character and look of the statue. I like both, so it's a buy. Price is still a concern of mine, I don't want to pay more than what I perceive is the value of what I'm looking at, but a lower concern of mine is ES.

So as solo measurable units, price is somewhat of a concern and ES isn't as big a deal to me, but I can say that this got me thinking about the relationship between ES and price. If this was produced unlimited over several years and had an incredibly high ES I could care less. But if the price was still $400, I can't say I'd be happy about that.

Looking forward, let's say we're at Batman comic version PF #2 in a few years. Arbitrary numbers, but let's say the average cost of a PF is about $550. The ES of this new Batman (New 52, classic Blue, Dark Knight Returns, whatever) is 4500 for the EX and 7500 regular, which if the current trend continues, I don't think are far fetched numbers for the future. Inflation is real and will happen, but at rising costs and increasing ES, will you at some point question if it's still worth it? I love these characters and this art form but if the prices get too high and in my mind don't truly reflect how limited or not limited the product is it may not be worth it in the future to keep doing this. That said, I'd buy that "new Batman" with any ES if the price was fair in my head. It could be completely unlimited and if it looked good I'd be all over it, but i wouldn't pay $400+ either.

It is a huge ES, I get where MM is coming from, but think your ok as a collector if you got the EX. Would never pay full price for a Reg with that many being made though.

I think your ok as a collector if you buy and collect whatever they heck you want even if you don't give a damn about ES!!!! :wink1:
