Just seen it. This is a good zombie movie. They do bite but the movie doesn't show a close up and they're not the eating type of zombie.
This is not the localized type of zombie movie and doesn't have much time to develop character...just a variant type of zombie movie that's not gonna satisfy everyone.

Wish people learn to drive in my area. there's an accident at the end of my street every weeks. 4 way intersection and some 2 lane merge into one. its like they're zombie driver, lol.

Forster also confirms to Focus that World War Z will have a harder version on DVD/BD because the PG-13 rating in the US was a problem that limited the things they could show. And as one of our colleagues could already confirm, the theatrical version basically doesn't have any blood. That's unusual for a zombie movie but according to Forster, that is about to change once the DVD/BD gets released.

Saw it this weekend and enjoyed it a lot!
I really didn't miss the gore or blood, the tension and scares were just as effective.
Having said that, a little more graphic violence won't hurt.
My only real problem was that I felt the ending to be a bit rushed. There really isn't a big bang, or big action sequence at the end, so it's a bit odd when suddenly all is resolved.
Otherwise, excellent film.

This movie was quite a bit of fun and it sounds like its going to be better on Blu.

Finally saw this tonight.

Enjoyed it a lot. I think it helps to go in expecting an outbreak movie instead of a zombie movie, which I was.

I thought Pitt did a good job, but that one-handed chick was awesome.

I saw this last weekend, I had to go to three different theaters before I found a showing that wasn't sold out. I was like really? this film is still selling out? how? lol It was a good movie, glad I saw it, it felt like a prequel to 28 days later to me, I need to pop that in the dvd player and watch it again.

It could almost be a prequel to every Zombie movie. Zombie movies are generally post- apocalyptic. This movie is what comes before that.

Saw it last night and enjoyed it for what it was, didnt find it scary really, just more like a well made action movie. The Zombie "Wave" didnt bother me as much as I thougt it might, but many of the zombies, and not just the ones in super wide shots, looked like poorly done CG.

I know alot of people get all worked up if you refer to 28 Days Later as a Zombie movie, but this movie felt more like 28DL then it did a traditional Zombie film.

I will probably buy this on Blu when it comes out, as I have a feeling the movie may differ significantly on disc.

This to me was a really good movie.

Much much better than I expected it to be.
I personally found it intense and scary, (well, not scary but it made me nervous. The zombie attacks were kind of creepy)

I loved that there was not time wasted on a back story for his family. I really loved that. You are just put in the middle of the outbreak.

I can't say I hated anything about this. It was your typical zombie horror movie.

I did not miss the gore or the blood at all. The zombies were so intense and fast that it didn't matter than they didn't show any gore. It was okay. I really didn't have a problem with that.
There was so much chaos that the movie really didn't need to show people getting ripped apart.

That's funny because to me it felt like a sequel to 28 days later. At least a spiritual sequel.

The zombies moved almost the same way they did in 28 days later.
and it just had a similar feeling when I was watching it (of course 28 days later is much better than this one)

It almost felt like I was watching an american sequel to 28 days later or something. Or a prequel.

A lot of stuff reminded me of that movie.

I was disappointed. Maybe I expected too much from another zombie movie. Not that they would be bad as such, but this didn't bring anything new to the genre. 28 days later was and is IMO better, so why make another one. Maybe I have got enough zombies for a while. Now how about movie based on white wolf publishing's Werewolf game.

2/5

The were a few scenes where I found the lack of any blood at all to be a little distracting and unrealistic though.

Again, this is not a traditional zombie movie. It is more of an outbreak/disaster movie. Watch it in that light and you will enjoy it more.

well, The zombies were really fast, really strong and unstoppable.
They wouldn't go down after getting shot or even falling from a really high wall or building.

So that intensity for me made up for the lack of gore. They were so fast and intense that it was enough for me to like the movie. So I didn't need to see someone getting their arms ripped off or their face being eaten because these zombies were taking over entire cities within minutes.

The bicycle and airplane scene is another example. these things moved so fast and moved so weird it worked for me. that scene made me nervous.
