OK moving this to the Sandbox. Next step will be closing it. Those of you who don't seem to get along...may I suggest the ignore function. It really can work wonders. If not, well keep arguing amongst yourselves and this thread will be closed. Sometimes you got to learn to agree to disagree and move the hell on.

I'd just close it. You know how Dev gets and Blackthorne seems to think everything he sees on tv is real. Plus his complete lack of grammar, inconsistent punctuation, incapability of forming even a basic paragraph and insistence on posting a ____ing bible every time he posts has to be more than just a little annoying to other members here.

I could give a damn about his crazy ideas of what constitutes medicine, and I would gladly debate in a civilized manner. However, I will not grant so much as the appearance of credibility to someone who has no qualms perpetuating hackjob character assassinations based on a freaking cable channel documentary, against someone who isn't alive to defend his accusers.

Further, when I tell someone to leave me alone, how is their disregard for my request not considered blatant trolling? Instigation and badgering are cool now? We can do that?

I know what he means about the humanities (except that most of the hustlers that teach in those disciplines have the same point of view regarding the innate corruption of corporations, etc.). What is not true is that the medical sciences are bankrupt in the way that economics, history, literature, philosophy are. If there is anywhere in academia that still has integrity, it's medicine.

Just as you seem to have it "all figured out" that all businesses that have their roots in medicine have the greatest of "integrity" and that they are all that is right in this world, devoid of corporate greed and even an ounce of corruption, I beg to differ is all. Any time there is money involved, there is always corruption lingering just around the corner. And yes, that includes even busineses grounded in medicine - i.e. big pharma. To each his own buddy.

I think you're over reacting a little. He was just asking confirmation on a question. Ease up. He's just participating in discussion, just like all of us here. Just because his views are different from yours doesn't mean he's trolling you.

If the main posters are in agreement, why would it be locked up, unless a select minority like yourself disagrees with it and can't beat their arguments? You would sooner see it locked up to support your opinion by removing contrary opinions to your own from being expressed? Why not just move on then? Furthermore, you make the assumption that the main posters like to hear themselves talk when perhaps they just have a lot more to say than others have.
Talking in depth about a topic is what you do in a serious thread about serious subjects when people want more than just grunts and ahhs, to simply either agree or disagree, without any in depth discussion. Intellectual discussion is not for everyone.

If you have no interest in said topic, or in discussing it more than you already have, why not move on rather than put a wet blanket on OTHER people's edification from the thread by locking it up? Too threatened by opinions contrary to your own, expressed with more knowledge than you have on the subject?
