Apparently. :lol

I mean, I love criticism, and he gave some useful stuff...but I have a feeling he took this contest too seriously. They're going to air a real doritos commercial, and then they'll air this one too. For fun.

And yet, you continue to abuse us with your posts. If you check your dictionary, there a word in there spelled i-r-o-n-y.

I hope that was constructive. :duff

I don't abuse people, because I don't attack people. I attack issues.
You attack people. Not me.

If you perceive my posts to be abusive, it is because you personalize things that aren't personal at all. I criticize BEHAVIOR and beliefs, but not the people.

That is because people can change what it is they do and believe. People's actions that they do at any particular time is not their identity. It is not THEM.

People change their behavior and beliefs frequently. Does that make them a different person all of a sudden? No.

I don't take mustard gas personally, but I'll be damned if it's presence in my lungs is not abusive. What's more, if mustard gas's actions have nothing to do with its identity, I'll be just plain damned.

If you need any further help understanding, just let me know. Nobody asked you Mother Theresa, but don't think we aren't willing to assist you in surmounting that glaring shortcoming.

I don't intend it to be personal, and it isn't inherently personal. You just imagine that it is personal in your head.
Talking about issues is never personal. Only people who have decided to make it personal within themselves experience it personally.
Of course, that's on THEM.

you guys are like the Batman and the joker of Sideshow freaks...

crows, don't insult the Joker.

I just said I didn't take it personally. Not that you can talk about the things people should or shouldn't do without talking about the people who should or shouldn't do them, but I am aware that people are interchangable units to you. I understand that you think your judgments are detached from real people. And you're correct: your judgments have nothing to do with real people.

Regardless of your intentions, you still have the effect of an annoying fly that won't stopping landing on my plate. Don't take it personally when I reach for the fly swatter. I assure you it's nothing personal.

Yes, don't insult The Joker.

Of course you can distinguish the behavior from the individual doing it. All they have to do is stop if it's bad. They won't become another person by doing so. They just stop doing what they were doing.
Of course, if people make the mistake of believing that they are what they do, then they will falsely identify the behavior with who they are, thus taking it personally.

YOUR plate?

Remember back in the good old days when members were banned for simply being annoying? Good times. Those were the days. :(

So you were banned before? You were banned for taking shots specifically aimed at other members, in the form of insults, like flaming, like you have recently?

I just mean it because you guys go at it more than anyone else I see lol.

Han Solo and C-3PO is a better analogy, but I see your point.

Hardly mine alone.

You seem to be having difficulty reconciling moral culpability with the need to not be held responsible for your actions.

You assign personalizing to a statement when there is none. Perhaps there are others who do likewise, but no matter how popular that idea is, it is flawed.

And how exactly does opposition imply that things are being taken personally? I'm fairly certain that (IMHO) there's only one person here taking things personally. It's not Voorhees. And it sure as **** ain't me. You are free to kvetch altruist all day and all night as far as I'm concerned. I'll just tell you you're wrong if you call it moral. And I'll do it in every shade, hue and tone it creeps through. But I'm not going to regard it with anything less than the detachment with which I'd favor cancer, influenza, or zomie virus. It's simply a pernicious fact of nature and if you don't want to catch it (or see the rest of humanity eradicated by its contagion) you call it out. It's not true, and the truth will set any and all who get it, free.

Should you take that personally? I don't know. What you do or don't is not my business. Capice?

This thread is about me mother ****ers!
