Hey, just wondering how many folks would like to see more 1/4 scale comiquettes. They seem to have hit a standstill recently. :(

I like 1/5 Comiquette of Abomination, Thing, and Thor to go with my 1/5 Hulk Comiquette.

Mostly 1/5 Comiquette plz! LOL Keep Spiderman and his villians 1/4 Comiquette.

I'm not sure, but do you think the Spidey-Venom-Carnage set could perhaps be a one time deal?

Don't get me wrong though, would love to see more 1/4 scales coms.

If it were up to me all Comiquette and Premium Formats would be 1:4 and nothing else.

Don't think so, there have been other 1/4 scale comiquettes produced too.

Namor comiquette
Wolverine comiquette
Iron-man comiquette
Spiderman comiquette
Venom comiquette
Carnage comiquette
Stealth Iron-man comiquette
Silver Surfer comiquette
Iron-Spiderman Comiquette
Back in Black Spiderman Comiquette
Classic Iron Man Comiquette,

Some are also very close to and almost 1/4 scale: Mystique comiquette, Punisher comiquette, Elektra comiquette.

Hope they continue making more.

These have been confirmed at 1/5. It's not just about height but proportions and overall look. At one time SSC said that any figure that wouldn't lend itself to mixed media would be in 1/4 to fit in with the other offerings but it looks like we'll get a sprinkling of both scales for multiple character offerings.

Actually from some of the responses with the people involved an in comparing proportions they are over 1/5 scale, closer to 1/4 than 1/5.

Here's my data from another thread.

I remeasured them because of their poses they are not standing straight.

Method: measure with tape from sole of foot to hip and then hip to top of head and add them together.

Measurements
Mystique = 16.2"

Data manipulation

Mystique
Height 16.2"

1:4 scale ----- 16.2"x4= 64.5"=5.4 feet = 5' 4.8"
1:5 scale ----- 16.2"x5 = 81"= 6.75 feet = 6' 9"
1:6 scale ----- 16.2"x6 = 97.2 = 8.1 feet

Conclusions

Mystique
At 1:4 scale she is 5.4'.
At 1:5 scale she is 6.75'.

So I'm presuming that's it's 1:4 scale unless she's a basketball player. But 5'4.8" which seems a little short.

Marvel handbook states Mystique's height at 5'10" but variable since she's a shapeshifter.

I did the same for the others as well. They are closer to 1/4 than 1/5 scale.

Here are a couple of scale comparison pics with other 1/4 scale pieces.

the wolverine comiquette was confirmed 1/4 by the sculptor

I read your post over on Statue Forum about this. There is a pic on there showing the Mystique piece next to one another and it really illustrates the differences. Here is one with Mystique and Ms. Marvel and you can tell the difference between 1:4 and 1:5

The thing is with women you get away with it because the proportions are smaller naturally, it's a bigger glare with the male characters but it's not just about height it is overall presentation.

That may be, but there is no way that you'll ever convince me that the original Comiquette is 1:4 when I see pics like this showing it next to actual 1:4 pieces.

You can see if you take them both off of the base, not only is there a height issue but proportional too.

That pic is not straight on, it has a downward perspective that skews everything.

Anyone got a closeup pic of Wolvie head next to the rest? If you measure Cap and Thor, they are actually slightly larger than 1/4 scale (about 1/3.8ish) and Wolvie is a runt that is crouching over.

I'd love a uniform scale at 1/4, but I also love the dynamic pieces that can only feasibly and reasonably be done in 1/5 (Hulk comm & Angel comm). Space is an issue too. But nothing can really touch how bad ass 1/4 looks, so instead of '1/4 of fail', I'll go with '1/4 for the win'.

Well Iron-Man, Spiderman com, Stealth Iron-man, Wolverine, Ironman Maquette all were pretty dynamic poses. Actually dynamic poses (aside from flying and jumping) could help make the larger versions possible because they are shorter when they crouch, run and squat versus standing straight up in museum poses.

Here are some examples of really dynamic poses in 1/4 scale:

I'd absolutely love it, honestly SSC has done a good job on some making them easier to display. I saw a Sabretooth which is 1:4 next to Mystique AH which I still claim is 1:5 but because Sabretooth is knelt over and with the help of the bases, they look fantastic next to another. It'd just be nice to get some uniformity. There are only a few like the Magneto Comiquette or the first Wolvie Comiquette which look strange next to a few but overall I've seen collectors make it work.

Well she's closer to 1/4 than 1/5 here's some pics of her next to other 1/5 scale pieces, PCS 1/4 scale Cammy and 1/4 scale Mystique PF.

For the most part scale doesn't matter that much to me. So I guess I could careless about what the scale of something is, because at the end of the day I'm going to find a way to make all the scales work for me. The last thing I'm going to do is let scale issues dictate what's in my collection. Just make it 12" or more and I'll make it do what it do...:wink1:
