a uniformity for scale is so obviously needed, I wish SSC weren't so stubborn about it..

It's like the difference between Marvel Legends figures and the Marvel select figures, they are supposed to be around the same size except they're not, so you can't really display them together...

LOL no one has said no as of yet.

Why wouldn't we? :dunno

If fuzzy asks whether we'd like more 1/4 pieces, the answer is pretty clear...YES!

But that doesn't mean that we only want pieces in that scale, there is an awesome 1/5 scale too.:monkey3

:lol

Because they are different lines of toys, different products.

Why is everybody so "interested" in displaying everything together?! :dunno Do you really have enough space to do so? Most of the time it only makes cluttered displays...

I mostly only collect SW but my first Marvel PF will be Rogue and my first Com will be Hobgoblin. I look forward to getting all the com no smaller than 1/5 scale. 1/4 scale would be better. I vote yes.

That's right! Some of my stuff are 1/6 and less too! :pfft:

the wolverine comiquette was confirmed 1/4 by the sculptor
:lecture The Wolverine is 1/4th; Sideshow stated that the Wolverine comiquette would "fit in well" with any 1/5th, but the sculptor stated that he was intended to be 1/4th. You have to remember, Wolverine in the comics is only 5'3" and he is hunched over so he is going to be much smaller than the other characters. The original Iron Man comiquette isn't true 1/4th or 1/5th.

While I like PFs as well, 1/4th is the way to go. I have passed on five preorders over the last year simply because they were in 1/5th scale and looking at how many Sideshow 1/5th seem to be sitting on their warehouse shelves, I don't think I am the only person.

I will give my usual reply to this topic regarding Sideshow's decision to go 1/5th with the bulk of their comiquettes:

Get ready to use up all your space, cause these 1/4 will do just about that, space hogs. As much as I like some of these 1/4 scale, I am not gonna limit myself only to these 1/4. And some of em is a little lack luster. Like the simple colored base and skin tones. I would assume the larger they are, the more details they can have but the results is not always so.

I agree with the Mystique comi looking more 1/4 than 1/5, but imo, I would like to see SS just do all their comi's in 1/4 and they should minimize the pajama look of their pfs as much as possible.

I think that the Hobgob' is going to work will with the Spidey comi', but just in case it doesn't work I have a full proof back up plan...

1/6, 1/5 & 1/4 can work well together it just take a little displaying ingenuity to make it all follow together.

I voted NO because I collect to the beat of my on drummer. I don't need everything to be in one scale to make them work together in displaying harmony. To me having one size scaled statues in your collection is really quite BORING! There so much more to this hobby and displaying than having everything in 1/4 scale. But then your looking at a collector that displayed sports figures, sports memorabilia, Marvel statues, comic books and made them work together in my old collection room.

Ingenuity gents'...ingenuity!...;)

Well, I can honestly say it's 1/4 scale fully sculpted FTW! My problem is that since I buy comiquettes, most of my collection is already 1/5. I live with it because I have to. I refuse to buy any statues with clothes on them. To me it looks silly. So, if I want any SSC marvel pieces, I resigned myself to picking up comiquettes regardless of scale. As SSC collectors we shouldn't be put in that position.

For all of you that say a standardized 1/4 scale is not an issue....
Can any of you honestly say that our 1/5 comiquettes wouldn't look better in 1/4 scale. I can't.

I personally see my collection fall into a few category of sizes; There's life-size(1:1), extra large statues(1:2), large statues(1:3), medium statues (1:4 / 1:5), small statues and large figures (1:6), medium figures(1:12) , and small figures (3 3/4th inchers). That's plenty of variation of sizes. The problem with the "medium statue" category is that it's shared by two different scales, and that splits the roster right in half if you're trying to collect and display a full team. It would have been fine if 1:5 is small enough to be in it's own size category, but IMO it's way too similar to 1:4, except it's just slightly off... It's like when you see a supposedly life-size bust but the head is obviously too small, you can call it (1.8:1) scale but in the end it's just an off scale...

Take a look at how the scale changes exponentially; every time you split the size in half, the difference gets smaller and smaller. That's why (1:8), (1:9) , (1:10) , (1:11) aren't standard sizes, cause splitting those sizes in halves make too little of a difference to really matter, you would have to skip all the way from (1:6) to (1:12) just to half the height, when (1:1) to (1:2) could do the same without skipping scales.

(1:5) scale is right at the midpoint of the division where people debate whether it's small enough to be in it's own category, or if it's actually just an off scale to (1:4).

Well then you should vote yes because MORE 1/4 scale will mix will with your display. Notice there is no 'only' anywhere in this poll.
