Re: X-Men: Age of Apocalypse - May 27, 2016

In regards to that possible however unlikely post credit scene

Apocalypse posseses people in the comics, there's no issue there. The only problem is him being an alien instead of Ancient mutant. While that's not desired it's no different than lots of others villains in marvel movies that have been adapted differently from the comics

Did you read how they are introducing apocalypse in the next xmen movie? Ho hes handled? If its the truth singer had done it again and ****ed up xmen... Damn vaughn had put it back on the right track...

He didn't **** it up in the first place, Rothmn and Ratner did.

Yes, Bryan Singer Will Direct X-Men: Apocalypse -- Vulture

"Apocalypse will be a direct sequel set up in Days of Future Past's closing moments, the new film is intended to focus strictly on the younger McAvoy-Fassbender cast. The movie suggests that though First Class was the franchise's lowest earner when it bowed in 2011, Fox has enough confidence that the star-packed Days of Future Past will give the new cast enough momentum to stand on its own."

I'm glad it looks like we are getting a sequel that focuses on the First Class cast. That was by far my favorite film. Hopefully Emma Frost returns as well.

Agreed I love this cast glad they are focusing on them.

From all appearances, this will allow Fox a neat way to "reboot" the X-Men franchise since they are looking at their own X-Men cinematic universe.

Also, the idea of a younger cast works better for the long-term. A younger Prof. X and Magneto can contribute to better action scenes and a much lengthier franchise than perhaps Stewart and McKellen aren't interested in doing.

That's not say to bring them back EVENTUALLY but I like this twist of using Days of Future Past as a cinematic reboot without largely ignoring what happened in the previous movies.

I think though, one interesting measure will be Jackman's Wolverine. Who will "remember" the previous timelines. He will function much like Cable and/or Bishop in "Days of Future Past" and perhaps in "Apocalypse" (unless they use Bishop and/or Cable in that role). It's possible that Wolverine will "remember" Apocalypse as an extreme mutant and a destroyer. And considering they're already announcing the next X-Men movie they might drop hints of Apocalypse in DoFP.

Re: X-Men: Age of Apocalypse - May 27, 2016

It's a good way of keeping things fresh but avoiding the dreaded reboot.

Perhaps they'll have Xavier recruit young versions of Jean, Scott and Storm at some point soon.

I'm just wondering how X-Force and Wolverine 3 will fit into this. They could have X-Men Apocalypse as just FC but still use the OT characters in movies set in an alternate timeline

Re: X-Men: Age of Apocalypse - May 27, 2016

I would like to see Wolverine 3 perhaps answer some questions about Sabretooth. Perhaps they include Romulus as a villain as well but if the "new" timeline features a mutated Sabretooth like in X-Men 1, it'd be interesting to see how Wolvie deals with that and his memory of the timelines.

Is X-Force supposed to be based on the X-Men Black Ops team or the original Cable-led X-Force/New Mutants?

Re: X-Men: Age of Apocalypse - May 27, 2016

Bit of both from what i've heard.

Wolverine 3 would most likely be set between The Wolverine and DOFP.

So many questions. I'd like to know if DOFP is the final movie for the
Original Cast or if there is a possability of some of them being used atain, that'd clear some questions up.

At this point though, Logan has no real memories of Sabretooth pre X-Men 1, having taken a bullet to the dome post the events of 3 Mile Island (assuming they're even acknowledging Origins). :huh

Oh true...forgot about that! :slap

Re: X-Men: Age of Apocalypse - May 27, 2016

Wolverine doesn't remember Sabertooth as his brother. But i belive Sabertooth remembers him or atleast has an inlking to a relationship

In X-Men he has a keen affinity for Logans dogtags, could be it's a sign of the adamantium process he couldn't recieve that angered him or he himself has his own set of Weapon X tags and doesn't know why or how but is interested in why Logan has some.

Re: X-Men: Age of Apocalypse - May 27, 2016

i thought they weren't acknowledging it. pulling a Highlander ___ to be honest.

Even if they were pulling a Highlander, Logan didn't acknowledge any relationship with Sabretooth in X-Men 1, so Origins in or out, the end is still the same. Sabretooth also wasn't that bright in X1, so whatever process made him more animalistic might possibly be explained as having lowered his intelligence.

Re: X-Men: Age of Apocalypse - May 27, 2016

Um if Logan travels back in time to non-bullet to head self, is he gonna have a me, myself and irene moment? Because that means his mind would mend from future to past. Actually making him sychophrenic?

Would it mend/meld? In the comic, old Kitty completely took over young Kitty.

Re: X-Men: Age of Apocalypse - May 27, 2016

Yes but Kitty had those memories from her past the sync with her future self to fill the future gaps. If logan melds, it will mend himself with a self he doesnt know. It be like James Wolverine would fight Logan Wolverine mentally. The future man wouldnt know his past self and vice versa. It's not like assassin's creed where Desmond jut relives Ezio's past. Wolverine enters his non-effected self and controls the body! How does he force out a mind that he has no relation to due to his head injury?

Re: X-Men: Age of Apocalypse - May 27, 2016

I imagine it'll be a transference. His 70s mind will lay dormant in his future body.

Either that or it'll be locked into a corner of his mind and when the future mind goes back to the future, his 70s mind will ake over and have no memory of what had happened.

And getting shot in the head doesn't happen until 1979. The movie takes place in 1973.
