Big Johnny Cash fan maybe?

That article gave me hope for the AOA movie. Singer better learn from the poor reception the costumes and Sentinel design from DOFP is getting that he needs to hire a different design team for AOA.

:nono not Age of Apocalypse. It'll probably just be his origin story.

Hard to 100% trust that as many of those people decided to hate the deisgns before they were revealed. Unless it's 100% Comic brought to life it was gonna be hated.

The reception to them after final movie has released will give honest and widespread opinion

Or...just maybe... it's because they suck. The designs don't have to look like the comic book, but they shouldn't look like the black, asswipe they are. :lecture

Whats wrong with that design, I think it looks fine, especially for the 70’s.

You go from the FC concept to this and in the 70's not much has changed from the 60’s era it's not flashy its to dark like it don't belong in that time.
Maybe I was expecting something more.

I'm not saying I love it, but of all of them it's the only one that doesn't bother me.

In some ways, I think Bobby Ice Clay's outfit is worse than Quicksilver's :lol

It is, and it makes no sense. QS doesn’t bother me at all.

Nam you don’t think one design looks good?

Bishop looks passable and Wolverine tolerable, but for the most part, I haven't seen anything that has made me excited about this beyond initial rumors which were burned to a crisp with disappointment with every further announcement.

Were you even alive in the 70's?! :dunno :lol

"Brian Singer have you ever tried not making your X-Men look like idiots?"

:exactly:

In a perfect world, Singer would make up for the weird "future" designs by having the DoFP end with a new, rebooted timeline and the actual X-Men (Wolverine in yellow, cameo by Marsden in the classic blue, hooded Cyclops hear, etc.).

I'm thinking that the entire X1 2 3 trilogy is going to get nerfed and the First Class crew will head this franchise from then on. Hopefully a new director comes in after Apocalypse, seriously. DOFP will probably be Patrick and Ian's last X-Men film.

Yep, maybe soft reboot it. It sucks that some of their best casting never gets screen time. I've always disliked Halle Berry as Storm, but then you have what seems like pretty spot on looks in characters like Nightcrawler, Colossus, and Kitty Pryde that don't get alot of screen time. Maybe its just my perspective though because Wolverine, Colossus, and Crawler were my three favorite X-Men when I read the comic, but I'd like to see them in action onscreen.

Berry was good as Storm only in X1, but not in Toad's death scene :yuck

Yep, really getting sick of the strawman "teh fanboyz would only love Singer's designs if they were 1000% comic accurate!!!" *wrings hands*

No, like 'Nam says, it's 'cause they suck. I don't know how anyone can defend these costumes. They're not evocative of anything -- comics or good design. All I want are nice designs and heroes and villains that do take queues from the comics when it would be appropriate to do so -- think Sentinels, Sunspot or Iceman. Instead Singer discards all that for all-black, boring outfits and lame visual effects.
