No. You were right the first time. The 'second body' is part of his extra appendages, making up his mutant powers. When asked about his hair and if it aids his abilities, he said no. No, it doesn't. For looks only.

Technically my version of reality is the actual one (where she is who she is in the movies) and there's is the alternate (where they want her to be soomething different)

The whole point of her being Naked is symbolic of her stripping away the bondage of her old life, her "slave" life as Raven, and beginning again as Mystique

First Class developed her embracing her Mutancy rather than being ashamed of it quite brillaintly, imho.

Plus her line to Nightcrawler in X2 re-enforces that principle

The reality of that post you think is a "great analysis:" Let's cast a supermodel as Mystique and we'll have her essentially naked 3/4 of the time to jack up the sex appeal for this movie. The demographic we're shooting for will eat it up!!!

You missed my point. When she changes into someone else, she's fully clothed in whatever they're wearing. So it wouldn't have been a stretch to have her clothed in her "muntant" form as well. Instead, they wanted to capitalize on sex appeal.

Yeah, it's not a far stretch of the imagination to assume that if she can replicate clothes when disguising herself, she can manufacture either the leather outfit or the white dress she wore in the comics, when reverting back to "normal."
