Uncanny Web-Slinger
Super Freak
In the end, Hugh is giving Singer an oddly specific accolade that, first and firemost, isn't true
Indeed, quite pre-emptive

Blade isn't consider a superhero movie though.
NAM approved.
Uh... whut?
Jye's point was that Singer will hardly be the first. Even with the discounted Nolan and Raimi.
While BLADE may be the prototype that paved the way for the Marvel age of cinema, the film, in and of itself, was seen by most people as a horror/action film... NOT a comic book/superhero movie.

Blade is based off a Marvel comic book. So...it's a Marvel comic movie.
I feel like watching Blade now

Still, if Singer can make his third X-Men film the best yet, that would be a milestone no one else has managed to accomplish in the genre... even though he might have gotten away with a technicality or two between the SR/X3 fiasco.
Not really. Hell, while not perfect by any standards (or good by most), even the Punisher movies have improved with each release.
I really doubt the New Line execs green lighted BLADE to spawn a series of comic book movies. They sold it as another high octane, vampire movie that was so big in the 90's.
