Just saw the Trailer, not sure what to think of it. I was happy to see Montreal. Too bad I wasn't casted as one of the communist vietnamese by standers. Oh well.

I will. I'm actually on a conference call with a client at work while I surf the web. Infraction is on the way. :wave

Count me in as one of the few (or the only one?) that thought the X-Men trailer was better than the Cap one. I thought the Cap trailer was very generic and really didn't tell me anything at all. Sure, it had some interesting action, but the best action was lifted from Die Hard 3 and every Star Trek film since Star Trek 3 (the Helicarrier crashing). But it didn't tell me what any of it was about. Who is the villain? Cobra Commander? I know it's the Winter Soldier and I know who he is, but who sent him? Is it just some personal vendetta? Just random terrorism? Basically, I want to know what is at stake if Cap does not succeed, and the trailer didn't really clue me in.

The X-Men trailer did tell me that. What is at stake? The fate of the world! How can we prevent it? By sending Logan back and talking to young Xavier. Potential character arcs? Young Xavier will go from giving up on life to caring again and getting the X-Men and his school back on track. And perhaps Logan will also get a character arc.

I see action sequences being nothing but window dressing. They mean absolutely nothing if I don't care about the characters and I don't care about the mission. I loved the first Iron Man even though it is criticized for not having enough action. But for me, it felt perfectly fine because I cared about what happened to Tony. Small on action, but big on emotional investment. I liked the first two XMen and First Class, and hated X3 and thought Wolverine Origins was blah. Haven't seen "The" Wolverine yet. And I've also liked pretty much everything to some degree Singer has put out (except The Usual Suspects, oddly enough). At the very least, they have all been very solid, well told stories with likable characters. Even Jack the Giant Slayer was a solid movie, maybe nothing super extraordinary, but well put together which is more than I can say for something like the SW prequels.

Anyway, I'm still looking forward to both, as a big comic book fan. I'm rooting for Cap because I loved the character when I was younger and want the movie to be better than the first one. And I'm rooting for X Men since I want them to move past the X3 travesty and continue what First Class started.

If it should have been anyone other than Wolvie, it should have been Kitty Pryde, as it was in the comics. But yeah, Wolvie gets to go because he's the one who will bring in the money.

Makes sense I don't like it but its right thing to do.

They only removed my image?! I demand an infraction!

Greygoose got an infraction for using a gif that had the "F" word in it, why not me?!

MODS DO YOUR JOB AND INFRACT ME!

I've seen loads of gifs with the F word in and the mods do nothing. I don't get why I was infracted that time.

Do your job mods and infract Larja! :lecture

:lol :hi5: @ Larja.
