Won't happen until a reboot. It wouldn't fit into the story of the existing franchise. It'd be like all of a sudden Thor changing to Donald Blake or Jarvis inexplicably becoming a human butler.

They might do it with a young Scott Jean & storm joking McaVoys team in an alternate timeline,

I prefer the costumes stay away for now. Maybe for the 70’s crew.

Put the ENTIRE TEAM in their comic accurate, or at least obviously comic-inspired brightly colored costumes or bust.

After all, in that scenario the events of X1, X2 & X3 will have occurred slightly differently thus they could've wore different style outfits.
