I really don’t know why tdkr gets harshly judged by comic fans. The acting was great, the action was good, and it brought the trilogy full circle. I thought it was just as good as BB. My only really problem with it was Joeseph Gordon Levit. Other than that it is in my top 3 comic book movies of all time.

And I’m not even a Batman fan.

well, For me I hated that Batman took an8 year vacation at the beginning. that sucked because we see Bruce beaten and retired for most of the movie, Only to have Bruce get Beat up and retire (Again) when Bane beats him and captures him.
Nolan tends to exaggerate his points, I was like, I get it. Bruce Wayne is sad his girl died, I get it, we don't need to see a moping Bruce for most of the movie.
I wish he was hiding from the cops while still doing something, I don't know.

Bane's plan was kind of stupid tooI. Talia was a ridiculous twist, and, I mean, if you think about it, Robin did more than Batman did. Besides that there were little things that were annoying like, how did Bruce get to Gotham? how did he climb that bridge to paint the sign, how did he find Catwoman? etc etc.

Coming from someone who defended it while it was out and still like it enough that I've watched it at least a few times since release on Blu, its still a severely flawed movie and just overall too busy. The whole Talia substory should have been scrapped which I think it would have helped alot and JGL's whole role was too slapstick only it was supposed to be serious. What worked, I thought was great, but there were things in it that just... meh. none of this will probably register a bit with you though if you think this is a top three CBMs. :lol

yeah
Wait...a Superman movie where two god-like beings are pummeling each other has over-the-top action? That's just...well...the way it should be.

MOS is like if Dragon Ball Z, The Matrix 3, and Star Wars Episode 1 had a baby :lol

I get what you’re saying about the movie. I feel like I enjoyed more then the real comic fan because I am not a batman fan at all really. I just like good movies. But I vowed to retire from talking Batman here ,it causes mayhem.

But about MOS I totally agree with that :lol

Nolan didn't seem to understand the Bruce/Batman mentality. He'll be Batman until he dies, it's not just his job it's part of his Being (even Batman Forevor understood that) From TDK onwards Bruce couldn't wait to quit and let someone else be the hero so he could live happily ever after with Rachel.

At the end of TDK i figured he'd take the fall for the Murders and continue to be the vigilante of the City. But he quit.

He trained for years to be Batman for about a year in total

Only by stupid morons who just don't get that he was supposed to be impersonating Reeve. Spacey blatantly and flawlessly impersonating Hackman should've been the big, obvious clue. :lol

:goodpost:

The title itself "Superman RETURNS" gives a big indication that it's supposed to be a continuation of Reeve's series. The John Williams music also...

I actually quite like Superman Returns.

Yea I get that. For me, not being the biggest comic fan I didn’t care how Batman was in the comics. Judging these movies on their own accord I feel like they are great movies. Maybe that is why I enjoy the X-men movies more than most, I don’t need to see a 4 foot wolverine, or his uniform to enjoy the films. I just like good movies.

What I wrote was misunderstood. I was just saying that to impersonate an icon is already putting someone at a disadvantage. The original always has that biased love from fans. Michael Keaton, Christopher Reeves, Sean Connary etc…

I think Casting JGL after Heath won an oscar for the role would have been terrible for Rises, and was much smarter to leave him out especially when the recasting is specifically on image and not talent.

Absolutely.

..& for the record (once again :lol) I'm a big SR fan. :lecture

I remember him being accepted before the film was released, after though, even with the good critic reviews, fans hated him saying he was talentless and expressionless.

And I love SR as well :hi5: Always nice to see a fellow fan

Yeah man! :duff

Just adding to Nam's summation there - it was obviously a lot of things, that hurt SR ultimately. Bozoworth should've been Spacey's dunderhead, & PARKER POSEY should've been LOIS - for starters. The kid, the cut scenes (Krypton), the SUIT!!! :lol

Anyway..

About MOS being a work in progress (forget who wrote that) - really? :lol

The movie failed. The second one is now essentially - a refresh. :lol

It was trying to be too many things, & ended up being a big, dumb, noisy, Capcom game with some Nolan-esque glinty eyed superflu-pomp. :lol

Well, as this very website proves, NOTHING ever has been or ever will be unanimously regarded as anything. There will always be someone who has a problem with something, rightly or wrongly.

The only thing anybody cares about with consensus is whether you have enough of it to buy a ticket or stay away.

Of course, I just meant that generally speaking, it didn't near resonate with the populous like they intended.

There's not much to **** up - it's Superman. :lol :huh

... you know what, just gonna say it.

Put the ENTIRE TEAM in their comic accurate, or at least obviously comic-inspired brightly colored costumes or bust.

Won't happen until a reboot. It wouldn't fit into the story of the existing franchise. It'd be like all of a sudden Thor changing to Donald Blake or Jarvis inexplicably becoming a human butler.

They might do it with a young Scott Jean & storm joining McaVoys team in an alternate timeline,
