At first I was going to agree with the khevster, but both are in their costumes 24/7.

Wolverine's costume is his skin covering his adamantium.

Magneto magnetic personality is always with him.

Another reason beefing up the superhero action would have in no way hurt the story is the fact that Singer kind of went out of his way to make the future Sentinels invincible. Why? They were attacked by hundreds at a time. The mutants were clearly going to be defeated no matter what. Why not give each character a kill or two in the future, Wolverine included? The Sentinels still could have been absorbing powers but at least show Colossus crush one's head, Wolverine slice one up, etc.

Yup, watching the movie, I kind of got the feeling one Sentinel could have taken all of them out singlehandedly.

That was cool when Colossus jumped over the edge and then came through one of Blink's portals at terminal velocity. But he put a lot of faith in a character that was otherwise pretty vulnerable. Imagine if she died or got distracted right after he jumped off the cliff.

Yeah I'll agree with that point.

I see them being that un-defeat able was done to really stress how important it was to succeed in the time-travel mission.

I think of all CBMs they were the most formidable villains

Of course you did karamazov80, of course you did.

As long as everyone still "dies" in the future then "no hope" is sufficiently conveyed. If they're overwhelmed and die then they're overwhelmed and die. Which means Wolverine either succeeds in the past or all is lost. Having the mutants take out a few Sentinels before going down in a blaze of glory wouldn't have changed that, but it would have at least given them all one last hurrah.

Khev, you don't get to use a Bunk gif. I forbid it. It isn't just about showing that they all die, it's showing that they had zero chance. Not a small chance, but no chance. And that's what we saw. Sorry if the ever optimistic, happy go lucky Marvel Studios philosophy doesn't fit in neatly with the Singer-verse, but. . .

I didn't really feel anything because Iceman, Colossus, etc. kept coming back from the dead.

Let's face it, the movie was only going to end one way. Everyone lives. I still don't get the deal with Jean Grey. Isn't she destined to be a baaaad *****? She was tweaking out in X2 before the **** hit the fan, won't she become Pheonix in any timeline?

Why was she fine in the alternate DOFP happy ending? She should be trying to rule the world at that point. If I were Wolverine, I wouldn't be happy to see her back. She was cray cray. Did he forget that she disintegrated everyone and almost killed him? She could snap at any minute.
