Wolverine remembers everything from the original timeline so technically all movies "happened" with the possible exception of Origins. I didn't catch any glimpses from that one when Logan was having his Stryker flashbacks so it's possible that Singer just ignored it completely.

If you're asking "do X1 and X2 exist in the new timeline" then I would think that based on the last shot of DOFP the answer would be no. Charles makes a speech about how the future is never truly set (indicating that things will not necessarily play out as they did before) and then we see evidence of that with the Stryker/Mystique reveal. For X1 and X2 Stryker was never Mystique (well prior to X2 anyway) so I'd say the butterfly effect would probably have those two movies play out differently than how they went before.

I wonder if those possible changes include Logan's fashion sense :lol As long as he dresses like this in Apocalypse, and HT makes the figure, I will be satisfied.

then again, it's the 80's so he might look like Don Johnson from Miami Vice.

I know it kinda runs contradictory to my pro-underwear (on the outside) stance with Superman but I think that looks really stupid^ Too stupid. I could never see Hugh Jackman's Wolverine wearing that.

yes, yes I know it was Jackman who changed the character, the comic Wolverine obviously would wear it.

You've got to think these things through. Take the established movie character (a guy who rolls his eyes at fashion and "superhero" names like Cyclops and Rogue and things) and then figure out a way to put him in that suit. The hat would have to be either a random thing he wears to a gaudy costume party (where a fight inevitably breaks out to fulfill the obligatory costumed fight scene) or you'd have to make it functional in some way. Like Beast makes him a special helmet that amplifies his hearing even more through special sensors in the "ears" or something. Then Logan can take it and go "are you serious?" and Hank says "just put it on and tell me what you think," he does and is kind of impressed even if he doesn't like the design. He begrudgingly wears it and there you go.

:clap That works for me. And he's still in character because he doesn't like it. Maybe the helmet/mask can be use to protect him from telepathic attacks from Apocalypse or some other character like Magneto's helmet, which also looks stupid.

I still hate the bone claws. That's a terrible idea.

In X1 and X2, the claws are implants from the weapon X program (just like Lady Deathstrike's fingers). They built a mechanical rig that you can see in Logan x-rays, intricate mesh wire tubing and everything.

Yeah, just like the X MEN cartoons from the 90's. He wasn't born with claws, they were given to him, and in X2, Striker says, "I just gave you claws." which means he wasn't born with them, but someone at Marvel comics thought that ugly bone claws were cool.

I just you didn't read the Origins mini series then

Alright, I approve but change the whole costume to this while you're at it.

I think that's better.

So that right there is enough to sever X1 and X2 from Origins, Wolverine and DOFP. Best not to think of continuity with these.

I sure in the next Apocalypse movie there will be something that throws it off from connecting to the DOFP ending and continuity we saw. It does make me wonder though, how did Charles, Scott, Jean and Storm find Logan in this new DOFP continuity? Think about it, they found him because he was with Rogue, whom Magneto was hunting. Now with all the crap that's happened with Fassneto (like no more Mystique team up), he won't be looking for Rogue.

So how did Logan and Rogue get to the X-Mansion again? How did Rogue get that white streak? :lol

I know that he has the bone claws in the comics, but I'm just saying that the Wolverine that I grew up with and the one from the first 2 films didn't have bone claws. The bone claws were revealed for the first time in 1993 after he Magneto took the metal away from him, but before that, there was no such thing as bone claws.

Hmm thinking about it now if Singer didn't like the bone claws he had three options for DOFP:

1. Have Wolverine have NO claws since it takes place prior to Weapon X.

2. Give him metal claws and have Stryker recognize him as his recent Weapon X expiriment.

3. Give him metal claws, assume Weapon X was prior to 1973, and don't have Stryker in the movie at all.

Yeah, I guess Singer or Marvel likes bone claws. I think Wolverine having no claws would've been the best option.

Only as of the early 90's though. He wasn't originally conceived in the comics as having bone claws.

I know, I mentioned it already. 1993 was the year he got the bone claws :)

DOFP takes place in the 70's and the next film in the 80's, and X1 takes place in 2000 (more or less) So Magneto and Mystique might team up again by the year 2000 and everything can still happen the way it did originally. Except for the bone claws, that still makes no sense in the X1 and X2 original timeline.

We'll see.

I can't see Magneto and Mystique working together again though. That would make the two of them look stupid. Magneto tried to kill her in cold blood and almost succeeded. If she "goes bad" again after all that happened in DOFP, that's pretty lame.

Can we maybe just focus on actual X-Men instead of Mystique? Anyone remember a guy called Cyclops? **** me, I'd take a movie about Morph at this point as long as Mystique isn't the lynch pin. She's a huge plot point in FC too, in a way she never was in the comics.

First Class actually took a lot from the ultimate comics, and I think her relationship with Charles and Erik was inspired from that, but yea, most of us here feel she shouldn’t even be in this movie. This will most likely be the last movie starring Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique, we just have to suck it up for one more film and then hopefully we get a movie focusing on Cyclops and the team, which Kinberg already hinted should be the next film after Apocalypse.

probably some executive decision Jennifer Lawrence is female and she would attract more male audience instead of writing a good story
