Re: Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past

This is turning into an avalanche of a movie. They'll need to make it at least three hours to cram everything in. Nah, screw it... let's bring back the "intermission" so we can have it done right! 5 hours minimum. :lol

This I would not mind:exactly:

I agree, we need a stuidio/producer/director/actors to be brave and take a superhero movie to new heights and give us something like the LOTR EE trilogy.

Something truly Epic that we can truly sink our teeth into.

It would be a win/win for the studio and fans.

Don't care if its DC or Marvel.

No win for studio. Too many people don't have an attention span > 2 hours. Longer movie = less showings = less money.

Only one comic franchise deserves this treatment. . .

Make it so, Darren Aronofsky, Paul Thomas Anderson, or David Cronenberg.

Re: Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past

I saw that Fan BingBing was in this movie. I hope she is Jubilee or Psylocke.

EDIT: https://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/175527-new-x-men-days-of-future-past-casting-includes-the-return-of-colossus

Danel Cudmore returns as Colossus.

Boo Boo Stewart is the guy to the right of Fan Bing Bing.

Apparently she's playing Blink

______

Since it'll be a dystopian setting it makes sense that Mutants will be pooling all members for a fight back, though if i recall correctly most of the mutants were decimated by this point.

Singer must know that people don't wanna see the fave character's die on-screen (X3) so it'll be interesting to see how this goes & what it'll mean for future movies

Blink? What the hell.

Why bring another teleport when they could have brought back Nightcrawler or Azazel? I would prefier either of those, with Fan BingBing as Jubilee (already introduced) or Psylocke (to make up for that ****ty role she had in X3)

Re: Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past

Just read the comic. It alternates back between the past and future but the past timeline is the most prominent.

The past timeline X-Men races to stop the assassination that sets in motion the events that ends in the Sentinels running the US and attempting to take over the world, they battle Mystiques Brotherhood.

The future timeline has the remaining X-Men racing to stop the Sentinels at their base. They each die off one after another.

_____

- the time travel will need to be different as their isn't a Kitty counterpart in the 70s

- it will have to be a young Robert Kelly or better yet a different character.

- The 70s timeline will need more characters. Moira should return as her death in the comic is one of the three that triggers the dystopian future, and ther needs to be a brotherhood for the 70s team to fight against.

I think it's be great if the 70s team fail to stop the assasination of a young Robert Kelly, and therefore he won't have been present in the noughties for the events of X1-X3, so those events are undone.

At the end of the comic Senator Kelly lives but his views do not change and the events are still in motion. If the events of X1-X3 are the timeline that leads to the sentinel takeover then removing Senator Kelly in the past will change these events. So maybe tweak the comic story so the X-Men want to assassinate the Senator or they fail to stop it with the future working out better with his absence.

It might just be easier to make the assassination target someone else though.

Makes you wonder if the historical change will make the X1-X3 movies an alternate timeline and free up the 70s timeline to reboot classic characters in future movies.

Re: Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past

The only thing I'm certain of is the next movie will not tie things up neatly in or bow or solve all the continuity, character age, or storytelling snafus. Most of all there is no one "solution" to the problems of the other films that every fan will sign off on. It would be a mistake to spend too much time performing surgery on crappy films. Better to focus on making a decent sequel to X:FC with a minimum of influence by the other cast.

Re: Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past

Wolverine Origins was the one to screw with the continuity most. And i don't think that's being counted.

Other things like a human looking Hank McCoy appearing in X2 were more easter eggs and fanservice. Prof X saying Magneto helping him build Cerbero could be interpreted that he was one of the group who was there building it, or even built the version in the mansion.

Other than that there aren't really any issues. The death of the characters will be adressed to bring them back, that's only needed for Xavier and Jean, that could be as simple as Phoenix transporting them elsewhere (like the Star Trek transporter)

Imo people let continuity get in their way of enjoying the X films. No series of films connects perfectly

___________

I'm thinking Boo Boo Stewert will be playing Sunfire.

I'm actually not excited about this now coz:

1) it'll mess the whole "X-men movies" thing up to RISES level of ridiculousness and unwatchableness;
2) it'll mess up very good "First Class" concept and there'll be no continuetion of this particular story (FC never felt like a prequel to Singer's X-men, more like a reboot of the failing franchise);

Origins was a huge let down.

Re: Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past

I bet they'll feature the FF graves.

And will probably have a Days of Future Present r Onslaught event movie with bith the X-Nen and Fantastic Four.

If Cyclops stays dead he'll be the new 'Bucky'.

I don't get what you mean. Oh wait you mean dying ambiguously off-screen right?

1) Only thing it should be changing is the "deaths" in X3
2) The majority of the film will be set in the 70s, thus the First Class timeline

Only that as of now it sounds like he's the only dead character they won't bring back. I was calling Scott the new Bucky because for many years he was one of the very few "really dead" characters in comics.
