i have the best buy warranty, so now I want mine to fail so I can swap it out for one of these.

Honestly, I have brought mine back to Best Buy twice and BOTH times, they didn't even check if the system was broken. Well, once it actually did break, but the second time I just said that it would freeze after about 15 minutes and that was it. Just take yours in and say it doesn't work and they will swap them.

Exactly what I thought after looking at the picture. How many redesigns has MS had for the 360 now??:panic:

Aesthetically? This is the first redesign of the 360 since it launched, unless you count the "branded" ones with custom faceplates and skins (I don't).

Even the Elite system was a simple color change aesthetically. The design was exactly the same otherwise (internally it's changed a bit since launch, though).

yeah, there talking about the built in wi-fi and the power saving abilities...I mean hello do they not think people would want that stuff, should be put in the machine from the beginning.

- As for the best buy swapping...im on my 4th 360 and most of mine were legit red rings, but yeah even then they never really asked me anything. I walk in tell them i got red ring I grab another and I go home to game some more.

This is true, but I don't really care about wireless for any of my consoles. My modem and router are literally on the same shelf with everything. I can see how it is a nice feature, but if it's really driving up the cost of production like MS indicated years ago then I'm fine without that stuff.

I hear ya, i have mine hard wired also, I was just using it as examples.
If anything I just really like the sleek look of new case.

^^^I won't argue that, but they should've just spent a little more R&D time on the 360 instead of rushing to be the first on the market. Could've saved them a lot of $$$ and headaches in the long run.

Yea, but since when have companies ever been diligent and forward thinking....

Lame. I agree that nothing new is being brought to the table, but he's seemingly _____ing just to _____ about something. If you don't like something....don't buy it.

~~On a side note I just watched the 360 conference since I missed it live earlier. Its really not as bad as the author of the above article is making it. Is this some neat stuff? Sure. Gimmicky?? Definitely. Nintendo is still making a killing with the Wii so why are people so surprised and infuriated when the competition is trying to jump on board?? The only thing that surprised me is how long it took.

I'm at work so all the gaming/tech sites are blocked, and I'm too lazy to do a search, but does the 360 redesign get rid of the MS proprietary hard drive for the standard PC hard drive? Thanks in advance.

Sort of, it's in it's own special case the has a slot in the bottom of the console, it looks like all the regular connections are visible from the back so it may be possible to plug a hard drive in even if it doesn't fit into the slot correctly, but then you'd have a hard drive sitting next to the console.

I'm not sure if there will be a way to take the hard drive out of it's little case and switch it.

Not really a big deal though, it's still 250GB which is quite a lot.

Apparently no more RROD for the slim...primarily because MS didn't put any red LEDs in the slim.

Im thinking of getting this, so I dont end up red ringing my Halo 360. Thing is if I get this new one I will have to transfer everything to the new system, and then my newer 120gb hdd will be useless. My TRU only got in 4 of the systems in, and none sold so far.

but if the BB warrenty is as good as you all say then I might get it there since i get no discount on systems at tru.

I give MS credit for their design of the 360 from the get. Aesthetically at least. NOW SONY should be ashamed of that HUGE HULKING OVAL shaped monster they orginally put out. The design out now should have been the original. The original was like the size of the first VCR'S!!

The main reason I'd get this is for the wi-fi (currently connected to my computer to play online) and for a more reliable machine. Had one console die on me and I'm still a bit apprehensive about the one I have.

I'm thinking of trading in my 360 toward one of the new slims. Gamestop is offering $100 just for the core unit without hard drive.
