I cannot take down my friend's pics or links, but I can edit my post. Though as Drum18 said above once they were released there not too much to be done. XM should have been more careful not to allow someone take the pics in the first place.

Sounds like someone from the setup crew took the pictures without XM's knowledge.... I'm sure these guys sign papers saying they won't do such things but there's always that one person who can't help themselves...

QZ33 you need to edit your reply so the pictures don't show up.

Most usually go up in arms about missing on leaked photos or footages from major movies and products before release, and then bash the companies who try to take them down. So seeing on the forums how everyone's (most probably ones who share the same pool) reacting in an "overprotective" manner about it is silly, IMHO. As some have pointed out, this is the Internet age, once it's up there it's up there. So own up, learn from it -- next time be more meticulous, and call it a day. Remember, any publicity is good publicity.

And since we're all here to share our common passion and interests together, I think posting a CGA resolution with 1-bit monochrome (as used in ancient times for viewing on compact Macintoshes, Atari ST, etc.) would be OK for those who missed it, at least the ST duo.

The Storm Trooper set looks awesome. Any idea on the price for those, and if they can be purchased in Canada?

There is a fundamental difference between this is leaked movie photos. With a leaked movie photo, the leak doesn't threaten the production of the movie. A movie won't lose their ability to make a movie if there is a leak. The person responsible for the leak will just lose his job (and potentially get sued for breaking an NDA). When it comes to something like this, XM's license with Disney could be threatened if they are seen to allow leaks that are explicitly forbidden. So for a movie leak, the person doing the leaking is only putting himself in danger. Here, the person doing the leak is putting the company in danger as well.

Are we exaggerating much? The thoughts made weren't exclusive to movies, but also products -- whether 1st tier or their respective 3rd party accessories, i.e. cases for a brand new not announced iPhone, etc.. These things always happen and will continue to happen, and when they do, it's business as usual thereafter. But thank you for sharing your point of view.

The Vader set is a pass for me. It's supposed to tell his story of Ani to Anakin to Vader. But I think the separate bases make them too disjointed and it would have been nicer to have them as a diorama. I think XM played it safe and was trying to gauge the reaction and see first if they could sell this as a set. The Vader was not that different from the SS one and the other pieces do not make this worth the price of admission. On the other hand though the Stormtrooper pair which will have switch out Han and Luke head sculpts are definitely interesting.

That is interesting, not sure I'd display them that way but a very cool option!

Where do you think I am exaggerating? iPhone cases aren't licensed in the same way statues and merchandise of this kind are. Again, fundamentally different. It's all contracts and when you breach the terms of a contract you put that contract at risk. there's nothing exaggerated about that.

By that logic, and that scenario, the RS Forums, being a prominent community platform that's listed on StarWars.com should have already been the cause for voiding XM's contract and booting XM out of SW licenses/offerings. Deeming this as a "fundamentally different" is a sample of exaggeration in itself; I've been both on the receiving and issuing ends of corp. contracts and even licenses, and in situations similar to this, the worst could happen is a slap on the wrist. The only ones making a fuss about this and blowing it out of proportion are the entities who have referral/sale affiliations with those studios, and are worried about their own relationships re: gains/profits.

I understand that the Reveal and/or the PO will start happening this weekend during the SGTCC 2015 event, but does anyone know if it will be Saturday EOB EST or Sunday? Of course taking into account the time difference.

While you are correct the most likely outcome is a slap on the wrist, it is XM who advised that the photos need to be taken down under duress from the licensor. Whether or not an intimation that this sole incident jeapordizes the license entirely is an honest portrayal, they felt it would put undo strain between them and Disney. So why have a tough **** attitude about it and intentionally press the issue? XM is likely and understandably gunshy about offending licensors after Marvel threatened their license. Yes, in that scenario it was other sales entities that drew Marvel's focus and ire towards XM, not orignating with the licensor themself, but the result is the same. XM only just got the Star Wars license. I think there is nothing wrong with them wanting to tow the line as straight as possible on the eve of their first reveal of their usage of that license.

Btw, not really related to XM statues, but still Star Wars and XM related

Does anyone recognize this guy in red? He's the one who drew up that fantastic Galactic Empire artwork, and he did mention his name to me but I'm darn hopeless when it comes to remembering names. Really wanted to give him some credit in my fb photos (as well as actually knowing the name of the artist who autographed the artwork I bought lol)

Seems that XM probably should spend less time running around the forums trying to cover up what's already been leaked, and more time trying to prevent the leaks from taking place in the first place. Those are the people they actually have some control over. Random forum members who haven't signed any NDA or anything, not so much.
