not seeing these is killing me! Although I would likely be unable to afford most of them if the prices I am hearing buzzed around are accurate.

for maul do we get his entire bike or just part of it? Do they have it hovering somehow or is it affixed to the base?

It's the whole bike. It is fixed to the sand wave that is coming up from underneath it.

prices are accurate as you were able to PO at the show, if you see it on that list that's the price :p

damn, I didn't know they let you pre-order the star wars stuff too, given nothing seemed to be fully green-lighted.

sigh...I guess difficult choices will have to be made : )

thanks for that. I think this is shooting up to my #1 must have from their star wars line...if I can somehow afford it.

For me it's the only one I'll care about from what I have read.
Most of them seem pretty amazing but for example, Grievous... I couldn't care less about the character, he is literally at the bottom of my list so I would never allocate the money nor space (if it really is that huge) to the statue.

If Maul is as awesome as It's Sisko described, I can see myself trying to make it happen, I don't mind passing on a few other pieces in order to soften the blow. Anything Darth Maul has top priority in my collection but it has to be incredible, especially at this price.

how would you pre-order something that you haven't seen!??!?! or even for the people at the show.. how can you dish out about $600 for a statue that is not done and painted ??? the whole thing XM is handling their SW line is just stupid IMO

Yeah let's hope it doesn't take forever until we see a finished product.

XM are pretty damn fast, unlike Sideshow, the issue here is Lucasfilm apparently.

I have most of the XM statues. Except for maybe Hulk I've never been let down by them. I believe that the Star Wars line won't disappoint. Once the photos come out it'll be a feeding frenzy for them. After all this is Star Wars! I would rather roll the dice and secure the one's I mostly want Vader & Grievous then be boxed out or have to pay some crazy premium later on to get one.

This is where I am. I just don't get it.

I don't like to judge, but I feel the same way. P.O.'ing based on a WIP is a gamble I would not take with my $$$, but to each his own. Is it just a deposit, or is it straight up full payment? And is the deposit refundable? Lastly, is there a real danger of these selling out fast? Just trying to fully understand the situation.

Clearly you haven't seen how fast some XM piece's sellout. Plus XM doesn't make more than 999 ES on their piece's. They stick to that and these will be some of the Hardest Star Wars items to secure.

I know they sell fast usually, but I don't collect XM so I only casually observe and do not know exactly how fast. I guess if it's that fast, and it's a piece you're willing to gamble on then maybe the ones P.O.ing WIPs are not so off base.

I pre-order from all the companies and XM is near impossible to get without securing them well in advance.
Once they are shown Everyone will be battling to get one. An ES of under a Thousand for a Really Nice Star Wars item, wait and see how hard it will be to get one without paying a fortune for a mark-up to secure it then.

I have no doubt that they'll go fast if they do indeed turn out nicely. The ES is definitely nice if it's under 1K, so like I said, maybe the ones who don't order this far in advance are the crazy ones. I was very hopeful about the Boba Fett piece, but in the end I much preferred the Sideshow piece, as well as the SS price. To me it's too big of a gamble, not to mention that I personally don't think I want to pay that much for any piece.

I think high end star wars fans are much more "particular" than superhero statue collectors.

"Interpretations" generally don't sit well with most. Even the smallest "non-accurate" feature can result in endless banter.

The fact that a top tier character like fett is still readily available is telling. I am not so sure that any of these will be instant sell outs, especially given the price points, and the fact that SS star wars line (outside of maybe the first few) have been well crafted hits.

It will be interesting to see if these end up having edition sizes significantly less than 999.

Totally agree.

I think Grievous is the sleeper. Generally he's not too popular but he has his fans and his statue is supposed to be pretty massive. Fans are moving towards bigger & better all the time. Plus out of this group, he would probably have the lowest ES. So, I think he'll be the good one to grab. And I actually like that weirdo.
