Man, my question about a light feature really opened up a can.... Sorry everyone.

You are missing the context, the post I quoted was from a person that doesn't want the light up feature, so Why would they care if the lights don't work?

The answer remains the same - the person does not want to own a defective product. What's the confusion?

I would be bothered if I know the lights are not working as designed. If if I am not using the feature just knowing it stopped working would bother me. If I ever sell it I will also take a hit. We need a company to realize these are not cheap toys to be played with and thrown away after a few months. They need to make these light up features serviceable or just leave them out. If just one company makes the lights serviceable the rest will face pressure to do the same.

i think they would care if they had brought a broken product lol.
I for one don't care much for light up features but some statues i have brought and am going to buy wil have lights but if they are broken i won't be very happy at all and will be going straight back........if you are happy to buy and have defective items in your collection well that is up to you

There's no confusion. You want something without light, and you end up getting it with the light and it stopped working after a year, so you end up with exactly what you wanted in the beginning. You would keep saying its defective but you actually wanted a defective product in the beginning.

It's cool guys.... Light or not , now xm confirm no light, so we should all be fine. The statue itself is a bad ass anyways .

It is not defective if it was never designed with lights in the first place...

So if the company offers the exact same statue in two versions, one w/ lights, one w/o lights, same price, same ES (don't even call it EX or Reg).... which would you buy?

No lights because i really don't use them. You?

Lights, ftw. I have the IM and WM maquettes for, what five years now, probably turn them on less than 10 times.... but still nice to have the choice. :wink1: still work great.

I guess it's situational also. Some statues, like XM BW light is just an add on, but man, IM... you gotta have lights.

It is nice to have the lights. I had the MK VI & WM. I just didn't put the lights on much in case i sold the statues. When i sold the MK VI the buyer was worried about the lights working. :lol

Thanks Snoop. Now go ban jay ;)

Non led for me. I'm in the camp that companies need to start making the lights accessible to the user and start designing them with this in mind from day one.

I don't get why the concept is so hard for some to truly understand. When the lights in a statue stop working the resale value of it drops by what 1/3-1/2. It doesn't matter if the person who is buying it originally wanted no lights or if they wanted lights it becomes a broken/defective statue.

If the company came up with a way of easily taking the lights and batteries out so the LEDs could be replaced I would go for it, but I would preferred it if there wasn't extensive wiring throughout the entire statue to get it done because wires can fail. So for example if the lights and batteries for IMs eyes were just in the head and the Faceplate came off, or if the arc reactor was just in the chest and that part came out... similarly with the hands. Sure that is a lot of batteries, but you could remove them all to avoid leakage, and repairing/replacing individual parts would be way easier than digging into the legs of the statue to try and fix wiring to the base.

No not for me thanks well not untill companies and not just sideshow start making the bulbs ect replaceable
