Theres a reason PCS sells 500 (two different exclusives) E Hondas in less then an hour bro. It may not matter to everyone but it sure as hell matters to some
True say and don't forget Ryu in like 4 minutes lol
ES will never stop me from getting a piece I want but it's a nice bonus if you're paying a premium.
Exactly!

This is all very baffling for me. Unless your personal livelihood is at stake because of the existence of XM, I just can't fathom taking pot shots at them...as a collector. I love SSC but having XM around is freakin awesome. It has renewed my excitement in collecting a bit with their low ESs, unbelievable detail, amazing interaction with the consumer, and overall pleasant display of tranparency to all us collectors. Yes, they are expensive and somewhat unproven as they are new to the game but I am super excited they have arrived on the scene. If we get some north american distributors that can lower the prices even more, hallelujah! I think even Ink will agree that that would be a great thing for us collectors.

:goodpost::exactly: Totally agree with your post especially the baffling part concerning the response given to Tavegg.

All I can say is I love my statues and if I like a statue and want it, well who makes it is a secondary concern.

I agree with you but I somewhat understand the "hate".

I kind of think of it like this...let's say you're a huge Yankees fan. They are winning championships every year and are the best team around. You love the team and become a diehard fan. Then, suddenly, there are the Red Sox, and they're good, too. They even beat your favourite team occasionally...does that mean that you have to now be a fan of the Red Sox? Heeeeellll no...in fact, it's more likely that you will hate the Red Sox for beating your team, hogging the spot light, and generally disrupting the status quo.

Like I said, I don't agree with it (as a consumer, I welcome competition for my $$$), but I think that is the mindset for some people.

Its true man. Everyone becomes brand loyal and especially collectors. We tend to defend our favourite and bash others. It happens in every field. Like PC vs Mac, sports, etc..its a psychological thing.

I'm glad I don't buy into that psychology. I have statues from many different companies. :dunno

Not everyone and maybe for statues but I'm sure there is something that feel a certain affinity towards that you would defend against others. Like Bmutha said, maybe a sports team?

No. Not that serious about those things, weird. :huh I'm the basic don't put your hands on me or **** with my family or money. :lol

Problem with the sports analogy is that it'd normal for a person to root for one team. Collectibles isn't a sport and most collectors have a wide variety of companies and different scale statues. I get what you mean B but who roots for 5 different NFL football teams at once? Most people just root for one. Maybe 2. It's not uncommon for collectors to be all over the board with what we collect and to the majority of us labels don't matter. Only the finished product in hand

True, but that's you dude. As youve also seen there are a Lot of ppl like that and I hate the term fanboys but that's what it is. Not everyone, but it's definitely there

Yeah... I understand the sports analogy but I'm not buying it. Sports are a different thing and the whole point of them is to for one team to win and another to lose. That isn't the case with statues or brands in general. It's a fallacy. For products it's more that people defend their decisions adamantly, whether that decision is by virtue, by compulsion or by financial necessity.

For some people statues is their sport and Sideshow is their team. Just the best analogy I can think of off the top of my head.

Maybe Marvel vs DC hits closer to home for collectors, :lol For a lot of people it's one or the other.

I'm with you, though. I've got Sideshow, Koto, Bowen, art asylum and now XM on the way. Doesn't matter to me as long as it looks good.

Yes, but you are a rational thinking person...not everyone out there is :lol

Well, if someone only wants to root for one company, it's their loss. They will miss out on the good stuff that other companies produce and will probably regret it in the long run...

I agree totally.

I just recently picked up some Koto fine art statues, and damn are they nice. I also recently saw some first 4 figures sonic and knuckles statues, and damn, they're nice, too! Have to keep an open mind about things.

Exactly, nothing wrong with liking statues from other companies as long as you as a collector like them nobody should tell you otherwise. I have statues from Kotobukiya, Sideshow, XM Studios, Art Asylum, CS Moore, etc and in all different scales. I enjoy every one of them as they all offer something unique and striking in my collection and wouldn't have it any other way. Collecting from only one company is boring to me and if a statue is well made I would like to support the company that makes it to further improve the quality of statues that I receive.

Yes yes, our money will go to the best statue out there. Simple and fair. I buy statues first, then look at the brand or manufacturer. Not the other way around.
