Shouldn't they have caught this waaaaay before shipping them out? I mean, with such legendary QC...

I am curious how getting it through a retailer will work, since it will take quite awhile for them to get these, then they will have to be shipped. I have this on order at BBTS and really have no idea how that will work.

Only the first batch has gone out as far as I know and Given American retailers seem to get theirs from the last batch I doubt you have anything to be worried about.

You know if this was SS they would just replace the pictures on their site with the messed up hair and claim that's the way it was suppose to be

Bryan stated that they are recasting 700... Isn't that close to or maybe even the entire ES. Sorry I would check, but the XM site won't come up on my tablet right now. In the end I am not sure if it will be cheaper for them to send these out as is for now, and then ship out the fixed heads, or hold on to what they have and make the replacements and then send them out with just the first batch getting the recast heads shipped separately. I am guessing that from a work flow and storage space point of view that whatever is finished and ready to be boxed will go out as is and get the replacements later, but that is just a guess.

As for SSC yes they migh do that or they would replace the heads that were faulty with newly painted replacements, which they have done in the past, and given their response to the Thor base issues I have a feeling that is what they would do again.

Yeah if they've already got half the edition almost painted then they might just send them out as is and then send the extra head later. Only way to know for sure is to ask them. The edition is 700 on this by the way.

I have to think they are further along than that, because otherwise why the need to recast 700 heads? That to me says that they already finished the run on this guy, otherwise, why not just fix the heads already done? I mean, really, your talking about an eyebrow (or back of the neck) and a little shading on the nose. So why recast the entire thing unless that the run is already done and they need to get it out?

Which still leaves me confused, I mean, will I have to request the replacement head through BBTS or something? Will the retailers already know to expect these replacement heads? I would rather that it was complete before shipping, even if it meant more delays, since this seems like a headache in the making unless you are getting it direct.

That isn't how the supply and production of these really works though Dan. First I don't know how many batches there are for this, but my guess is MOST if not all of the bodies and heads are painted up and batch 2 is mostly boxed up and just about ready to ship to Singapore to undergo the final QC checks. The factory won't have the space to store hundreds of the boxes for these pieces, you know how big the boxes for these are better than I do, given that they service more than one company, just for the tiniest of heads to be shipped. So my guess is, and judging from Bryan's post, these are going to go out as is with the improved heads to come in a couple of months. Don't forget they need to get these out to not only get paid for them, but to also clear up space for upcoming releases.

This would be the first time in history that XM has done all the statues in one batch and shipped them ALL out.... Odds are Bryan overstated the issue by saying they have to recast all the portraits... I'm sure there will be clarification soon...

If this was the case people wouldn't have to wait 6+ months after the first batch went out to receive their statues which has been the case with all their statues so far... As Ant-man is packed and ready to ship, we will be sending all 700 new heads to all the distributors and customers who have purchased from us - everyone can keep the old head.

It's more straight forward for the distis, they order say 50 pcs from us, we will send them 50 pcs of the new heads, and customers who bought from them can contact them to get those heads. For direct customers, we also have their details so we will contact them directly to ship the heads. For people who bought and sold it to someone else, the original customers should still contact the shop where they bought it from (be it direct XM or a disti) and get the head and be a gentlemen (or lady) and send that to your buyer - buyers if you can't get the sellers to cooperate, get in touch with me and I'll sort it out for you. (and let me know who's the seller heh heh... I'll help you get back at him)

Seems they do have all the Ant-Man's done.... so to answer Tbolts question, BBTS.com will have to contact their source and their source will send them the new heads. If you have any problems getting the new head from BBTS.com you can contact XM direct and they will take care of it for you.

Well it has happened before that even though. It happened when they sent out new heads for the googly eyed Rogues, and basically an ENTIRE statue run with Spiderwoman. I am not saying it is always that way, but I am HOPING it is a start.

There has also been an amazing amount of success as of late. Batgirl, Lobo, Superman, Gladiator and King Hulk, and that is just the start of some statues with great QC and CS. However, I don't disagree that it will be a long while before we know if it is a new direction or a temporary spasm of good CS, but like you said I am hoping. I would rather hope that something is being built up, instead of tearing things down all the time.
