No they are predominantly mixed media. I own both the Batman and Superman PF Ex. (great statues btw ). If you are referring to just the face, then I guess it has a more realistic Alex Ross type look, whereas XM is more comic like...I guess.

I'm just confused with the more realistic paint job comments. I get the mixed media part. I just don't get the paint up part being more realistic.

Yeah dudes.....I don't see a more realistic Cap when comparing the SS PF to the XM Cap. What I really think is those who cannot afford the XM Cap have to justify the inferior SS Cap they own to make them feel better (that's my opinion and I may be totally wrong). I mean let's just be straight up honest here....we all have two eyes....there is just no GOSH DARN comparison between the two. The XM runs circles around the CAP PF from SS. I mean that in the utmost respect because I used to be a proud owner of the regular Captain American PF by SS. I must say, after seeing the side by side pics, I understand why some like fully sculpted much better than mixed media. There is so much more detailed musculature on the XM cap its not even funny. More display options.....better pose...better paint app....and DAMN THAT HULK IS HUGE in the background!

Exactly like you said. The paint and sculpt of the faces look more realistic. And yes I understand that might be the goal of both companies. XM wanting the comic based look and SS wanting a realistic vibe. Who knows, I just calls em as I sees em.

Which I guess is realistic (tho a bit odd on the allied charge cap since he should be like, what, 20?). I personally like the way xm is doing the face for this cap. It is similar to the first cap from sideshow in terms of non wrinkliness. As for more realistic? Can't comment til I get xm in hand to compare.

25 to be exact. But I like the face weathering. That's what happens to young men in war. And you know he was at war "endlessly" back in WWII

I remember reading an article with pictures a year or so ago. Showed pictures of kids before the military at age 18, mid deployment at 20, and the day they went home at 22(ish). Crazy to see visually the effects it has.

Yeah. That's what I said before. At any point, sideshow could choose to go more comic based, and XM more realistic. I am going to buy what ever statue I like, regardless of the brand. (As long as it's in my price range.)
