HOLY SWEET STATUES! Iv gone crazy. Just finished working out a deal with Secret Compass and they guaranteed me the coin and print. Last one available to them. I pulled the trigger. It was an insane amount of money but I'm so happy. I think I finally have the Captain America status I have been searching for. I am so excited. I paid a lot but it was nice to have the rush again and searching for and finding a rare premium collectible.

Congrats man. How much did it end up costing ya?

Got mines at simply toys for just a shade under $700 after currency conversion rates and shipping costs Not Bad I'd say. Looks like they are sold out too so sads.

That's a great price. I'm looking at that kinda price for just the statue if trying to buy it here in the UK, let alone shipping & import tax etc :dunno

I haven't been following XM too closely...what is the coin? Is that their version of an EX?

I'm i remember correctly there were only 200 to 250 coins produced for Cap. It was for the collectors that Pre Ordered one. Retailers would have been included if they pre ordered up to a certain date. It's not really an exclusive per say. Just an extra you get for PO early. Same goes for Hulk. They are doing something unique like this for all of their releases. If you register your statue through their website (pretty damn cool) you are put into a drawing for an artist painted AP with sigs from all involved in the designing of the statue. Like a lottery for one lucky collector

Mine is on the way!! should arrive next week! :)

Congrats dude. Be sure to post pics!

Yeah, it only is "while supplies last" no for sure number. So it'll probably be more rare.

Honestly, I just don't get that. XM has done everything else right. Why not just make 500 coins for the 500 Cap's they produced? As a collector, it would feel all wrong to drop the kind of money XM charges for their pieces and then not have the coin. How hard is it to just make 500 coins and make sure all their collectors have one? I don't know...maybe I'm just being unreasonable but XM seems to be moving mountains to make their customers happy. I can imagine their are going to be at least a few peeps that are unhappy they missed out on the coin.

It looks like it was a little different circumstances like tavegg said. All I remember is the guy from XM on the forums saying there weren't many, and they went fast.

@tavegg

Wow that hulk idea sounds awesome!

I agree and were not the minority. I remember seeing people convert the original PF from PJs to fully sculpted. That was a sharp looking custom cap.

That is my favorite 1/4 scale Cap. I'm in awe of it and drool every time I see pics of one. The overall cost of buying and converting the PF is the only thing that's stopping me from doing it. That's a whole lot of $$$ I'm reluctant to give up. However, I feel my resolve weakening. If I can swing the right price for a REG Cap PF, I think I'm going to bite the bullet.

I must say that the in hand pics I've seen of the XM Cap from thepurist were incredible. I can't imagine how anyone who ordered this piece won't be super happy with it once they receive it. Even though I didn't order it, it truly is a special piece.

500 coins for 500 statues seems like simple math to me. I only find this curious because XM really seems to go all out for their customers with great EX switch out parts and very high QC. IMHO, why not put the same effort in for the coins? Again, this is just a small quibble. Maybe most collectors don't even care about the coin.

I think they wanted to make it an exclusivity thing. So not every statue owner had it. With future XM pieces, it'd definitely be beneficial to pre order early. Just in case.

It's not a bad business decision to be honest. Will create a preorder rush and crazy amounts of hype building up to preorder.

Aw dude... The first time I'd ever seen the conversion done I was in absolute awe of how incredible it looked. My first instinct was to follow suit but like you've pointed out, the cost of converting this piece made the idea less appealing. As soon as I saw the proto pics of XMs I jumped on it! Fully sculpted is how I wanted this character and from the get go I felt that XM nailed it. Of course my I was nervous about how the actual production piece would look. I got stuck with one of the horrific paint apps of those 1/4 scale iron studios IM statues. Left a really bad taste in my mouth for newer companies so you can imagine my delight after finally seeing some in hand pics of XMs Cap!

Good luck on the hunt for a Cap PF man. I hope you can find one for a decent price

Yeah that's exactly it. There was no set number put into place. It was XMs way of thanking the early birds for committing to buy their product. Everyone likes exclusivity. XM is just carrying that on for collectors. As long as you signed up early the coin was guaranteed. Peeps that missed out are the late comers. Similar to SS in a way you could say

Make 200 or so coins to sell them faster? I guess. Don't think it was necessary. If a statue of Cap is ugly, no one's going to rush to buy it because of a coin. This one happens to look great so it'll sell regardless. I just thought for their first statue offering, it would have been cool for everyone who ordered an XM Cap to get everything offered with the statue. Again, this is a minor thing. I'm quite sure everyone that ordered Cap will be more than happy once they receive him.

Yeah, it looks like they gave a couple to the retailers too. Someone a page or two back said they got one.

I must say, as a new company, they are doing everything right. Customer opinion and QC seem like their two biggest focal points. Change out parts and prints and what not to make sure the customer feels like they are getting theirs money's worth. And then the exclusivity aspect, of only a 500 ES and then even a smaller amount of the coins. And then on top of that, they follow up with their word by putting out a good product. On time.

It's very impressive. I wonder if they are planning on keeping everything around a 500ES, or if the more popularity they gain, the more they will do?

:goodpost::exactly:

I made sure I got a coin, I ordered early and emailed to make sure I would get one.

Not getting a coin would aggravate me :mad: and be a pass on the statue.

NO COIN = PASS

But each collector thinks different :wave

EVERY company looks to grow and increase their profits. SSC started out the same way. Super kick ass pieces with a very limited amount being released. As XM becomes more successful, they will increase the ES of their pieces to generate more profits. So long as they don't sacrifice quality, it's OK. I would never fault a company for trying to increase its profits. I only get upset when a company charges more and gives us less. No EXs, uninspired sculpts, and crappy QC along with increased prices is what personally gets my goat. We have seen that with a few of SSC's newest releases. However, as a whole, I think SSC gets far more right than they do wrong. If XM is to be successful, they will need to grow their company. I don't see that being a problem for them. They sure have started off with a bang. They listen to their customers, have very strict QC measures in place, and most importantly...they are delivering some great sculpts. So long as XM doesn't lose sight of what makes them successful, they will be just fine.
